| Mine was a 95 model 2121 with 1.6 litre Fiat engine. The engine burst after 2 years of hard fourwheeling. A mazda V6 3,000cc fuel injected engine was mated to the Lada transmision and shoved under the bonnet but the bonnet just won't closed so a hole was cutted and a large fibreglass scoop was fabricated. Walla ! the fastest Lada North of Borneo even a Proton VR4 have problem keeping up. RM20.00 of fuel a day burn a hole in my pocket so out go the V6 and in go a 2C Toyota turbo diesel. It fit nicely with minor alterations to the mountings. I keep the Niva divorce mounted transfer case. This engine are both torquey and economical to run you won't believe the fuel meter reading. |
