do you see
the fallen along the road?
who sit with their heads
hung low in their arms
or perhaps
metaphorical corpses
of solitude
on the wayside.
Because their souls
still scream
and try to distract you
from your path.
Pass on through
the Dead Marshes
and look not to
either side of you
till you get to
the end of this road
or you might join
the fallen ones.
