Fan Fiction - Harry Potter
A Dork's Diary: Memoirs of Keira Matthews
Author: Sukie
Rated: PG-13
Status: WIP; updating is temporarily on hiatus.
I absolutely love this story, to the point where at the release of particularly fabulous chapters, I tend to go into an icon-making flurry. Keira Matthews is delightfully hilarious, and you can't help but fall in love with her - not to mention Terry Boot, "resident sarky smart-arse of Ravenclaw". Set during the events of HBP, this is a fantastic read which will have you shipping, in stitches, headdesk-ing, and empathising the whole way through.
The Wound Dresser
Author: Pennilyn Novus
Rated: R
Status: COMPLETE
This is another one of my all time favourites. It's very dark, and somewhat gory - but manages to hold a beautiful prestige within its fantastic useage of imagery and subtle repetition. In the perspective of Ginny Weasley during the second war. Warning: definately for older readers, content is not suitable for a younger audience. This will captivate you, and bring you to the edge of tears. It is beautiful, yet painful - but all in all, a very poignant story.
The Joys of Apparition
Author: Overhill
Rated: G
Status: COMPLETE
Absolutely and completely side-splitting, this hilarious story examines precisely why the Heads of House love Apparition classes. The dialogue is clear and communicates effectively the power of insanity. Prepare yourself to lyao. Warning: do not drink anything whilst reading this piece.
Tale of a Time Long Gone
Author: Star of the North
Rated: PG-13
Status: WIP
Captivating, detailed and rich with humour, adventure and yes, sadness, Tale of a Time Long Gone is one of those exceptional Founders fics that keep you coming back for more. There's nothing to not love about this story. The characters are wonderfully characterised and very easy to empathise with. A wonderful story that you must read, for the sake of having read something so positively beautiful.
Lamenations of a Starry Eyed Twit
Author: She's a Star
Rated: PG
Status: WIP; apparently, uploading seems to be on a hiatus.
One of those decidedly too-funny-for-words stories that lead you to love Auriga and Sinistra/Snape within the very first few words. She's a Star is talented, anyone can see that, and brings to life a superb character that is incomparable. A must read!
Diary of a Red Head
Author: Snowy Winter Tales
Rated: PG
Status: COMPLETE
Extremely funny. Ginny Weasley has a memorable voice, snogs with gnomes and an incurable obsession with Harry. AU, (as written prior HBP) but more than worth it. One of Fanfiction.net's finest.
Chocolate Biscuits
Author: Snowy Winter Tales
Rated: PG
Status: WIP
Ginny Weasley's back in the sequel to Diary of a Red Head. Set four years later, featuring the likes of Draco Malfoy, Zacharius Smith, and a suspicious Harry who makes a habit of avoiding Ginny, and Ginny him. There isn't much to add other than, READ IT!
When a Malfoy Loves
Author: Sohara von Salienta
Rated: G
Status: COMPLETE
Poignant, pretty and perfectly characterised, When a Malfoy Loves is a vignette which I adore for the wonderful assertions and thourough characterisations. This is exactly how I see Draco Malfoy in love. It helps, too, to mention that Sohara is an extremely talented writer whom I've always adored.
