I've been dying for a pretty place to store all my witterings, and randomly made graphics for ages, and so the night I finally finished one of my wretched, yet fortunately short, school assessments, I set about working on a - what I thought - wallpaper featuring Keira Knightley. Between deciding whether I should desaturate her photo first and then running over her with the dodge brush, it came into my head that her photo was perfect for a layout - considering her pose and position on the photo overall. And so, playing with layers and brushes which I had only downloaded the day before, I continued my work. I decided to call the site "Love Song For No One" as I was listening to John Mayer's song of the same name. Knowing me of course, this title changed. Instead, I stole the name from a line in a poem called "A Slash of Blue".
It serves, as mentioned in the former paragraph, as an archive of my short and random writing and whatnot as well as the odd recommendation or two of the things I delve into in order to maintain my sanity in this seriously depraved universe in which we live.
About Niyki
I was tempted to write "Me" instead of Niyki, but I think my name fits more appropiately...
The first thing you may be wondering is why the heck I call myself Niyki, and if it really is pronounced the same as "Nikki" (mind you, it is), then why the heck it has an odd and random "y" thrown in. Believe it or not, the purpose of the "y" is not to throw you into desperate confusion. I spell it that way, because to me personally, "Niki" is too plain, and "Nikki" sounds slutty - the opposite of my character. Besides, I'm a random person - what can I say? By the way, Niyki is derived from my given name - NICOLE.
I am 17, turning 18... in July, if you must know. I've just finished highschool, and am presently stuck in what I call "the four months of purposelessness", in which I have, if you hadn't gathered already, mostly no purpose in life - other than to hope I get an offer from the University of Sydney.
I love God - and He is so important to me. I am a christian, and I have loved walking with God in a personal relationship for however long I have been saved. Some people remember even the date. I don't remember when I first gave my life to the Lord, but I did at an age younger than 7... And I recommitted at 13... 3 years of really walking with God... I've loved every moment, regardless of how hard some of it has been.
I often write prose, poetry, lyrics and short stories. I have a love for my acoustic guitar, and I now officially hate steel string guitars.
I have many fandoms including Lord Of The Rings (movie-verse), Harry Potter (the books mostly, though one of the movies was okay), The Chronicles of Narnia, Coldplay and more which I cannot really be bothered to list.
I love music - I love to sing. A first love, and never really gone too.
