Cereal Bars 1 cup Coconut 1 cup Sesame Seeds 1/2 cup slivered nuts (almonds are good) 1/2 cup Sunflower Seeds 5 cups Oatmeal 1 cup Wheat Germ Dried Fruit- i.e., banana chips. Mix all the dry ingredients. Then stir on the stove until blended: 1 cup Honey (or sweetener substitute) 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (or sugar substitute) 1 cup Oil (or applesauce) Mix this liquid mixture with the dry ingredients, being sure to coat all the dry ingredients with some of the liquid mixture. Press this in cookie sheets (with a rim) about 1/2 inches thick. Bake in a SLOW oven (about 200 degrees) 15 to 20 minutes. Cool thoroughly, breaking up the mixture and stirring occasionally. Once you have your granola made, it is not hard to turn it into snack bars. The granola is already cooked, so all you need to do is add something to hold the mixture together. It's like making rice crispy treats. You can use melted marshmallows, peanut butter, honey, or any combination of ingredients that will hold the mixture together.
