When I grow up I want to be a Major League Baseball player. Ive played organized baseball since I was five years old. In that time I learned that if I played that long I really like it. I like being a part of a team so I can meet new people. |

I want to do this profession because I enjoy playing and getting better at things. I like playing because I have two role models. Their names are Mark McGwire and Don Mattingly. I met Don Mattingly in person at his sons high school baseball game. My duties for this job will be doing my best, and getting to games and practices on time. |

One other duty is helping my teammates by cheering them on. I will need to go to college to play there to be ready for the majors. Plus I will need special training so I can get better, and an education to know how to manage my career. The Natural, is the story about Roy Hobbs dream to become a baseball superstar. Roys dad told him, Youve got a gift Roy." |

"But its not enough. Youve got to develop yourself. If you rely too much on your gift you will fail. |

I think this job will be hard when I first become a M.L.B. player. When I start to play for a long time it might get easier. When there are new players that are good it will probably get harder. Mark McGwire and Don Mattingly knew that it was going to get hard but it didnt stop them from trying. Im not going to stop trying either. |
