I got my dog when I was seven years old. I was spending the night at my friend's house. When my dad came to pick me up he said, "Let's go get a dog for your mom's birthday." I asked, "A real dog?" He said, "Yes a real dog."
Then I screamed because I was so happy!!! When we drove up to the animal shelter my dad told me that he had already asked the man running the shelter if he could go get his daughter. The man asked Dad how long would it take. My dad told him just a couple of minutes. We got there about 10 minutes after closing time. We went in and I looked at the dogs. Then I saw the One. I told the man which one I wanted. My dad asked how much and the man said $25.00. My dad pulled out his credit card and the man said they couldn't take credit cards.
Reaching into his pocket, Dad only had about $9.00 and some change. The man said, "Give me that and just take her." She looked almost black because she was so dirty. When we got home my dad carried her in to the house. My mom was up on a ladder stripping wallpaper. When she saw my dad with the "Thing" in his arms she said, "I WANTED DIMOND EARINGS NOT A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then after Dad and I gave her a bath we found out she was white with tan spots. Mom said we could keep her for two weeks.
After the two weeks past my mom said we could keep her forever. We decided to name our new dog Nissi, which means "God's banner of love." She loves almost everyone and is very playful!!! HER FAMILY LOVES HER VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!! |
