Status Report for the week of Sep 11-15
Status is as follows: As you can tell the website is up and fully operational. Although it is not 100% complete it will take time to figure out exactly what information we choose to post on this website. Within a month I hope to have the site finished. First meeting was held on Tuesday the 12th. Minimal information was discussed. So far we have purchased our car and scheduled trials. During theses trials next Tuesday, we intend to test the battery life and the range of the car. At this time we will take into account the weather and the terrain the car will be performing on. Also at this time we hope to do some research on average battery life of other cars. Next week we will be able to take giant strides in our research.
Status Report for Sep 18-22
This week members of our group met and began to compile a plan of what we intend to do. We took apart the car and found some major issues already starting with the packing. It took 3 different screwdrivers just to undue the car and place batteries in it. That is unacceptable especially since it didn’t even come with a special tool to do the job. Also we began research on another way to wire the power source, or possibly an alternative power source. Next week we intend to due the trials which were postponed this week due to weather.
Status report for Sep 25 – 29
This week the group met on Thursday. At that time the car was ran to find the time that it can operate before running out of battery life and the distance the car can operate away from the controller. Also we began to reverse engineer the car by taking the body off the car and getting into some of the mechanics and electronics.
