Exponent - How many ounces Alice eats/drinks. The number of times the base is multiplied by itself - Ab - AxAxA

Base - How much her height increases/decreases when she eats 1 ounce.

Logarithm -

Exponential function -

Exponent of zero and always true when it equals 1.

If Alice eats/drinks zero ounces hey height stays the same so you multiply her height by one.

2^5 = 32
2^4 = 32/2 = 16
2^3 = 16/2 =   8
2^2 =  8/2  =   4
2^1 =  4/2  =   2
2^0 =  2/2  =   1

2^5 x  2^0  = 2^5+0 = 2^5
same as
2^5 x 1 = 2^5

The line never quite reaches zero at 2^0, it goes to one.

How to use addittive law of exponents and repeated exponentiation and show why they work.

Additive law- (a^x)(a^y)= a^x+y.  Alice eat/drinkss different amounts  at different times. The base stays the same but the exponents/ounces add to each other because the amount of ounces changes.

Repeated exponentiation (a^x)y = a^xy   Alice eats/drinks the same amount of ounces at different times.
