T3 LEGO Robots

T3 LEGO Robot Criteria

There will be two robots per team in NITRO's T3 competition.  One will be made from LEGO, and the other will be non-LEGO (or from a Spybotics set)

If you would like to build a LEGO robot from the Mindstorms kits, you need follow For the LEGO robot competing in T3 each time, it will have to be subject to the following criteria:

- 1 RCX allowed per team
- 2 motors allowed per team
- 2 wires allowed per team
- 6 AA batteries given per team � a good idea is to bring more on race day
- NO touch sensors
- NO light sensor
- NO rotation sensor
- LEGO Robot must be made completely from LEGO parts
- Robot must only be controlled by the appropriate controller
- Robot must be able to move under its own power
- Anybody caught using the LEGO Remote will be disqualified
- Robot must fit inside a 25cm x 25cm x 25cm cube
- Robot must be running the correct program that corresponds with their controller
- Anybody caught running their robot on frequencies other than what are allocated will be disqualified
- No competitor can purposely aim their controller at the other robot, causing it to slow down by jamming their code
- If that does happen and the judge decides that the match cannot continue, the match will be paused, and the offending robots moved back to their starting pads

Note that the RED TEAM always has Controller Type A (Channels 1-7), and the BLUE TEAM always has Controller Type B (Channels 11-17).  Type A resides in Slot 1 of the controller and Type B resides in Slot 2.

Note that the competitors will not be allowed to tamper with the programming of the controllers.  However, a team may change the actions that correspond to each button configuration for better driving, if they so desire.these criteria.
