Born in Dokbai village in Bohrom Pur, Murshidabad in 1928. Poet, Novelist, Critic and
Educationalist.
He finished "High Madhrasa" from Vabhta Azizia High Madhrasa in 1946, I.A. from Bohrom Pur Krishna Nath College, B.A. from Rajshahi Government College in 1951, and M.A. in Bangla from Calcutta University in 1953. From 1953-1957, he taught at High Madhrasas and High Middle Schools in West Bengal. He was appointed lecturor of Bangla at Pabna Edward College in 1958. Later, he became the head of the Bangla Department in this college. He joined Bangla Department of Dhaka University as a junior lecturor in 1966 and was promoted to Senior Lecturor in 1970. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literature Prize in 1972(Posthumous). Death: An admiror of literature of Rabindranath and a progressive intellectual, Anwar Pasha was picked up by Al-Badar Bahini, predecessor of now Islami Chattra Shibir and right hand of Pakistani military, on December 14, 1971, at the eve of imminent defeat in the Bangladesh Liberation War and later killed in Mirpur slaughtering ground. |
