Born: August 10, 1939: Feni.
Educationalist. He finished Matriculation from Feni Government High School in 1955, I.A. in 1957, and B.A. in 1959 from Feni College. He received B.Ed. degree from Dhaka Teachers Training College in 1962. He also received M.A. in 1965, and Doctor of Education in 1968 from Northern Colorado State University in the US. He was the Headmaster of Feni G.A. Academy School from 1962-1965. He was appointed as a Lecturor of the Arts Feculty of Dhaka University Education and Reasearch Institute in 1968 (October 25). He was promoted as a Assistant Professor on December 11 of the same year. Faizul Mahi was a brilliant professor and a favorite teacher. He had a charming personality. He loved literature, music, and sports. He authored many articles published in newspapers and magazines. He was an active supporter of Bangladesh Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971. He financially helped many Freedom Fighters and families destituted by the Paksitani military. At the eve of the Pakistani defeat, in August 14, 1971, the collaborators of Paksitani Military, Al-Badar Bahini (militant cadars of Islamic fundamentalists: Jamat-e-Islami) abducted him from his university apartment. He was brutally killed along with many other intellectuals in the slaughtering ground of Mirpur. |
