The dried up stream which attracted lot
of butterflies. The Tawny Rajah was feasting on the nutrients  from the soil. Engrossed in feeding it allowed close  approach, without getting disturbed. According to Isaac Kehimakar since the stream also has some salty contents from nearby creek, it attracts these butterflies who come to mud puddle.
Close-up of the wing
This butterfly has strong body and
wings. When caught, it makes a loud
noise with its wings like an angry
bee. Kiran Srivastava has posted mail
about this behavior.
The Tawny Rajah in  full glory
In spite of its brilliant coloration, the butterfly          camouflages superbly amongst the dried  leaf litter
