However, key things changed that makes it not a game that I can recommend! First, Novalogic has a bad tendancy to change the game dramatically, at almost a whim. The snipers are all but useless. If you like sniping only, do not get this game. They made the zoom not work anymore. They also made the rifles shoot so much smoke that only an idiot doesnt see where the shot came from.
They removed the ability for Helicopter pilots to use flares to defend themselves. Again this was to "BALANCE" the game. I contend that it not only made it unbalanced, but also makes it so that unless someone else fires flares, you are just flying a grave! Mostly you die because that idiot next to you decides not to flare at all!! Troop Carriers are all but useless since that ONE apg or stinger often kills all guys in it. I have seen as many as 15 guys die because of this stupidity! Especially with the new ANTIAIR missles.
APCs and TANKS are now so easy to kill that usually only one hit from a APG kills it. Or a few rounds from a 50 cal does! There is no reason now to use it as a troop carrier because it blows up so easily, that its pure suicide to load up the max load of around 8 guys. APC's are also so hard to steer that its almost imposible to turn, even on an open field, less alone around the tight turns of a city where ONE APG just about kills you
Now that I tore up the game, there is a few good things. If you do manage to survive, flying a helicopter is easy to fly. The graphics are great, but this alone doesnt support the reason to buy this game! The charactors are now so different from the originals (as release in July 2004), that you can not even recognize that its the same game.
If you are looking for a good game, wait for EA GAMES BATTLEFIELD 2, due sometime around March 2005!
