The Weaver Takes A Wife (Regency)(May 99). Imagine a match between a haughty London beauty (a duke's daughter) and a commoner, Mr. Ethan Brundy, owner of a Lancashire textile mill. Lady Helen's father has gambled away the family fortune and now must use her to snare one of the richest men in England. I only read the best Regencies and I can truly say that this book is enthralling -- a wonderful read for women of all ages. Reviewed by J.P. Shoemaker |

Hayley's Heart (Historical Romance) (May 99).Hats off to Liz for penning this compelling tale about Hayley, a young woman forced into drudgery as a Colonial bondservant. Hayley proves her courage and loyalty when she helps her sister, Daryl, escape from a cruel master and a certain death sentence for killing him in self-defense. The hero, Conn, takes in both young women without knowing about their past. In the end, it is the love in Hayley's Heart that brings about closure to Conn's own troubled past and Daryl's life-threatening dilemma. Reviewed by J.P. Shoemaker |
