My exchange-year in the USA
back to main site
The first step: a 10-hours flight from Munich, Germany to Chicago O'Hare, IL. We flew with "Lufthansa" in the economy class, that means no space, no good food and only 2 movies... lol
But at least we didn't have problems with turbulences like the AFS-students on the plane to Dallas/Fort Worth had...
At the airport in Chicago we had to WAIT. We were standing there for half an hour waiting for the bus...
At least it was warm out (ca. 90 F).
This picture was taken in the bus on our 8!!-hour ride to St. Paul, MN. We (19 german exchange-students and Scott)  watched some movies and stopped at a restaurant, but actually we were  all just  TIRED!
In St Paul we stayed at St Kates University for a 1-day orientation together with hundreds of other AFS exchange-students from all over the world.
WE HAD LOTS OF FUN!
That's a picture of the dorms we had to stay in. What you can't see is that it was hot, they had no airconditioning and it stank...
Here's a picture of all the exchange-students waiting for their hostfamilies to pick them up.
