"Why the tears sweetie?" he asked as he hovered above me. "I've missed you so much, why did you leave?" I asked. "I had to, now shhh, let's just not talk about it okay?" he said as he caressed my face with his hand. That night we made love like we would never again. As we laid there lightly gasping for air I took Brian's hand that was draped over my stomach. "I love you so much Brian." I said as I closed my eyes. "I'll see you tomorrow." he whispered into my ear as he kissed my cheek. "Where are you going?" I asked him. "Back where I belong." he said as he stood up and got dressed. "I'll be back tomorrow night." he said as he walked towards the door. "Wait." I said. But it was too late, he was gone. I fell asleep. I awoke the next morning. I thought what happened last night was all a dream. It must have been. Brian was gone. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I noticed that I had no clothes on. I could still feel him in me. His love burning in my heart. I pondered for hours. How could it be a dream if I could feel him. I went downstairs as the doorbell rang. I went to the door. Kim and Brad stood there. "Hi mom, how are you?" Kim asked. I nodded. "Where's Jacob?" Brad asked. "He's sleeping at a friend's house." I replied. I was confused on wheither or not I should tell them what happened. They would think that I was crazy. I smiled at them and invited them in. "How've you been holding up mom?" Kim asked. "I'm okay." I said quietly. "We were on our way to Conner's new place. We just stopped by to see if you needed anything." Brad said. I shook my head and faked a smile. "Okay Mom, you know my cell number, call if you need anything." Kim said. I nodded to her. "Don't you work young lady, that granddaughter of mine is due any day now." I smiled. "Mom, I told you not to give your hopes up. It could be a boy." she said as she placed her hand on her stomach. "I know, I'm your mother, I know it's a girl." I said as I put my hand on her. "Okay Mom, we'll stop by tomorrow." she smiled and kissed my cheek. I watched as they left. I went upstairs and took a long hot shower. I got dressed as my doorbell rang once again. I went to the door and looked out the window. I saw Nick standing there with Kevin. I opened the door. "Hey guys." I smiled. "Hi Rose. How are you?" Kevin asked. "I'm holding on. How's the wife and kids?" I asked. "Well, Jeremy's got a new girlfriend and Ann is getting married in two months. Which you are invited to the wedding I might add." Kevin smiled. I smiled back at him. "Glad to hear that. How about you Nick?" I asked as I hugged him. "Well, I can say good, but Cindy is going through her all boys talk already. It seems like just yesterday she hated them and Barbie was her best friend." Nick cracked a smile. "I myself have no problem with it, but her mother seems to think that it's my job to give the sex talk to her. I believe that she just doesn't want to do it." Nick laughed. I laughed too. "See, Melissa is a very smart woman Nick." I smiled. There was an odd moment of silence. "We're going to lunch, wanna come?" Nick asked. "Oh, I don't know, Jacob is at his friend's and he's due home in half an hour." I said shaking my head. "I'll go get him and meet you two there." Nick suggested. "Well..." I began. "No but's about it Rose, you're coming with us. Nick'll get Jake and I'll take you out for a while until it's lunch time." Kevin said as he took my hand. I smiled and nodded. "Okay, you fellahs win." I said. "Good, I'll go get Jacob." Nick said as he walked out the door. "Come on." Kevin said as he took my hand. "Wait, could I talk to you for a while?" I asked Kevin. "Sure Rose." he smiled and sat with me on the couch. "I had a dream last night." I said. He nodded. "It was weird because it all felt so real Kev." I said. "What was it about?" he asked. "You wouldn't believe me." I said. "Try me." he smiled. "Okay, I woke up in my room and Brian came to my door. I walked up to him, and he-he felt so real, he really did. I could reach out and touch him. I held his hand, I kissed him. We even made love, and it all felt so real." I said. Kevin nodded his head |
