About me 

Currently, I am a Ph.D student at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India working under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Puri. I have a great interest in research fields of Astrphysics and Astronomy right from my MSc. in Physics which I obtained from University of Delhi in 2008. Since then I have been associated with some of the interesting problems in Physics and Astrophysics with the guidance of very encouraging mentors. It was fortunate to work in IUCAA which gave me a platform to understand the subject and start to work on Astrophysical problems under the supervision of Professor Ranjan Gupta. I am now in the final year of my Ph.D thesis titled "Light scattering off various morphologies" expected to wind up by April 2015. My current work includes applying some of the condensed matter techniques to find out the electromagnetic light scattering from aggregates of dust grains lying in interstellar, interplanetary and cometary medium.  

Research Interests

My primary interest lies in :

Modeling of dust grains in the ISM and interplanetary medium- the composition, size distribution and shape of grain, scattering of light by FRACTALS and aggregates of dust.

Recently, I am also interested in:

Studying bird flocks as a soft condensed matter problem- finding out the various statistical properties of the system such as 2-point spatial and time correlation function, structure factor that gives information about scattering off the morphology etc.
