What is Depth? Depth is as deep as your soul
It is found as high as the clouds
or deep in the core

In what core? you may ask
The core of the earth?
I can answer that fast
The middle of birth

birth not of a child
but of a personal start
not found in position
but an emotional part

a part of yourself
like creativity or pride
something so wonderful and different
that you fear you must hide

Depth is this
found in all
Depth is expression
A chance to rise, without fall

I tell you child
please do not hide
Your gifts are unique
you will suceed, if only you try

Down

If I was a bird,
I would fall.
Depression Creeps,
Into the minds of all.

Most look above,
for relation and love.
Yet lately,
while they fly, I crawl.

Ave

Pleasureful dreams
slowly raise
The feeling of need
for your embrace

Carefree thoughts
promote their stance
The lust and reward
in your romance

I yearned for months
to feel your touch
Now good news hits
like a fearless punch

What I swore
were wasted days
Turned from sad goodbye's
to a fresh ave.

Only the Observant

Only the observant
can see past my eyes
Beauty lies hidden
in the things we despise

A rose amongst thorns
a laugh amongst cries
Observance is the call
to which your spirit replies

A tear with a meaning
gives a face its beauty
In the land of the free
all presence is duty

Observance is detail
detail is thought
You may win the bravest battle
yet fear who you fought

Without A Fight

Define the meaning
of what you did to me
Once I started leaning
you decided to leave

You simply ruled me out
and re-started your life
I feel the rising of doubt
again, without a fight

The Water Tower

Frequent memories
surface like dreams
In an orderly fashion
seven days a week

As I stare at simplicity
only now I know why
painted on memories
glaze its simple design

you've been a part of my routine
not by choice, but location
years ago I should have seen
your steadfast dedication

you hold not only water
but faces, memories, and names
I truly love you like a father
yet you bring a hidden shame

what I see in you is me
the me of long ago
when I think back to those dreams
I see a stranger I don't know

your minor imperfections
are filled with memories of gold
yet what I see in your reflection
is a failure, growing old

Stay In My Life

When I laugh with you
I cry inside
I know I must choose
but please stay in my life

When I hold your hand
you hold my heart
To the fires of love
Your eyes are a spark

A friend or a lover
I still cannot decide
but our love, distance covers
so please stay in my life
