True Beauty

Beauty, to most of the world, is store-bought and fake
It is not held within a made-up face, a three-story house or an imported
sports car
True beauty lies within our hearts and our senses
It is those things in our life which are priceless
It is in seeing the dolphins that dance on the waves of the ocean, swimming
and playing without a care
It is in seeing a rainbow-colored butterfly, flowing gracefully with the
gentle breeze
It is in hearing the cry of the Eagle as he soars against the clear, blue sky
with outstretched wings
And hearing the powerful roll of a majestic waterfall
It is in tasting the pure gifts and foods of the earth, the life-sustaining
energy so graciously given to us
And tasting the sweet kiss of a lover, intoxicating and energizing
It is in feeling the comforting warmth of the sun
And feeling the soft satin petals of a rose
It is in smelling the aroma of honey and the salty air of the sea
And smelling the crispness of a cool Autumn breeze
True beauty is the faith and the hope we feel in our hearts
The things that put our spirits at ease
True beauty is the thing that helps us dream
And strive to make those dreams come true
True beauty is the love between me and you
