Baroness Tanna Kemoc
A powerful mage and healer, she usually wears black fatigues, with her saber at her side.  Around her neck she wears an amulet, and a simple black polished stone.   Her red hair is up in a bun often, and her gold-flecked green eyes miss little.  She spends much of her time in her beloved Blackoak Village Inn. She has a hawk Familiar named Kareen, who watches her carefully, though is seldom seen.  She loves her eldest daughter Maggie, and her young twins, Leir and Elayne, very much, and would do anything in her power to protect them.  Formidable both as mage and fighter, she is not one to offend.  Though she would rather solve things peacefully, if you cross the line, you will regret it.

She was born to a noble family in a realm far from Rhydin, called Tellendra.  In appearace, the Tellendrese are rather like half-elves - taller, thinner, and more graceful than humans; yet they are softer in the body and face angles then elves; they are, however, far stronger than either of these - most of these things due to different gravity.  The main characteristic of the race, however, is even less well known than the race itself.  This characteristic is twofold; the first is that every Telendrese is extremely telepathic.  The second part deals with their emotions: unlike most any other race, Telendrese naturally show no emotion in their voice or expression; instead, they have a double row of feathery tendrils on their heads, which display telepathic 'runes', showing their emotions through shape and color.  They can, however, train themselves to show their emotions in a 'normal' fashion, though it is a diffcult thing.  Tanna has learned to keep the distinctive corona carefully hidden in her hair, choosing instead to show her emotions in the 'normal' way, though she can 'turn them off' should she so choose, reverting wholly to the Telendrese fashion.

At a fairly young age, however, she ran away from that life after her mother died from magical burnout and her father forbade her from learning to use her own gifts in fear that the same would happen to her, and after her father informed her that he intended her to marry the heir apparent to cement their already strong ties to the royal house.  Eventually she would find and use a Gate off of Tellendra, and find herself in the land of Rhydin.

It took her quite some time to adjust to this strange world and begin to learn to use her magical powers.  In time, she would also find something else: the love of her life, Lochlen Kemoc.  Together with a few friends, they helped him to reclaim his rightful place as Baron of Blackoak County; soon after, they were wed, and she took her place at his side as the Baroness.

The healer's guild she had helped form and grow, The White Hand, would eventually disintegrate, and with the aid of Lochlen and a number of their other TWH friends displaced by the downfall, she founded a new guild, the House of Lyfe.  They built a grand Castle on the ridge overlooking the desert of the Badlands, the House of Lyfe itself.

After many years of living happily in Blackoak and the House, word came to her that her homelands were in turmoil after the death of the king.  She returned there, taking Lochlen and a few of her friends as well.  They would eventually help to restore peace, but she and Lochlen stayed there for a number of years, assisting the new king as well as her father, training mages and fighters, and restoring social order, only returning to Blackoak sporadically to assure that it was not suffering too much in their absence.

In time, however, Lochlen would go out on a 'mission', never to return.  Tanna has been all but a recluse ever since, only coming out of the Manorhouse or her father's estate when needed for something.
