Her mother is of a little-known race from another world, Telendra.  In appearace, they are rather like half-elves taller, thinner, and more graceful than humans; yet they are softer in the body and face angles then elves; they are, however, far stronger than either of these--most of these things due to different gravity.  The main characteristic of the race, however, is even less well known than the race itself.  This characteristic is twofold; the first is that every Telendrese is extremely telepathic.  The second part deals with their emotions: unlike most any other race, Telendrese naturally show no emotion in their voice or expression; instead, they have a double row of feathery tendrils on their heads, which display telepathic 'runes', showing their emotions through shape and color.  They can, however, train themselves to show their emotions in a 'normal' fashion, as her mother has.  Maggie, while possessing the distinctive corona, keeps it carefully hidden in her hair, and naturally shows her emotions in the 'normal' way, though she can 'turn them off' should she so choose, reverting wholly to the Telendrese fashion.
Her father is mostly human, though with a very small amount of fairy blood of which he is not even aware.
A Mixed Heritage . . .
A Mixed Childhood . . .
Her father, Lochlen, is the Baron of Blackoak County, a small area near the city of Rhydin, at the border of the lands of the Sidhe Elves.  It was in this County, in the village of Blackoak, that she was born and spent her early childhood.
Her mother, Tanna, who ran away at a fairly young age, is the daughter of the cousin of the former King in Telendra, and therefore is first in the line of succession, at least until the current King has heirs of his own.  When Maggie was a small child, the former King died, and his two sons battled over the throne.  Tanna returned home, taking her family--now including Maggie's younger twin siblings Leir and Elayne--with her, to try and help end the disputes peacefully.  This, however, ended up taking years, and ultimately ended only with the older brother's death.  Maggie spent most of this time learning everything she could: court ettiquette; fighting, both from her father and her mother's father; magic, from her mother and a few others; riding, both horses from her father, and the Teledrese riding beasts, the Kryntla, cats the sizes of warhorses; as well as languages, histories, and anything else she could get books about.  Although she enjoyed this time, still she longed for what she could not help but think of as home: Blackoak County, with its great Manorhouse, her mother's Inn that they spent long hours in each night, and the countryside itself, including the Blackoak Woods, with the Faerie Wood within it.  A few years ago, she returned home with her mother and siblings, leaving Lochlen to help train troops with her grandfather.  Tanna and her siblings have come and gone, but Maggie has stayed in Rhydin, in the place where her heart rests.
A Mixed Past . . .
She spends much of her time in the Blackoak Village Inn, the Inn her father gave her mother long ago.  Because of this, she has met myriad people, of all kinds.  She has had a few romantic flings; the first and most powerful of these was with a man by the name of Shiinjokou.  After an unpleasant scene between him and her father during one of his visits, their relationship nearly ended, yet they came back together for a while.  When she found he was a dragon, however, she would have no more to do with him, as at that time she hated dragons to the point of almost taking the Dragonslayer's Oaths.  Soon after she had heard he had been killed, a childhood friend and sweetheart, Serion, told her that he was half-dragon.  She could not find it in her heart to come to hate Serion, and she realized how she had misjudged Shiin, but at this point it was too late.  Others have come and gone, breifly, but never did they seem quite right, for one reason or another.
During an early morning wandering however, she met a Paladin from another land by the name of Allivon Jenvagaden, who assured her that she would one day find the right man.  She soon thought that perhaps he was right; she had not, however, expected her heart to settle on the very man who gave her that advice.  She had finally found a man with whom she could spend hours on end, and enjoy every moment of it; one who could make that seemingly restless wild heart settle in one place, with only one thought in it. When he asked her to be his wife, she agreed without even having to think on the matter.  She soon discovered that she was pregnant...  but hardly sooner than she had told this to Allivon, he disappeared, returned to his homelands to deal with certain matters.  Over the next year, she saw him only occaisionally, in lulls of that business.  Eventually, however, his visits dwindled to nothing, despite his repeated reassurances that he would return to her and their daughter, Celeste, for good.  Celeste quite literally became the center of her existance; every thought was for her and her care and her future.
Mixed Feelings . . .
After one of her recent trips to Tellendra with Celeste, she entered the Gate to take her home, only to find herself outside a walled city in a strange land, most decidedly not the location of the gate near Rhydin city.  The gate, however, had closed, with no trace that it had ever been there, leaving her and Celeste stranded.  A man happened upon them then, who was in a similar situation.  His name was Terran Nytefyer; he too had somehow been transported from his estate, not far from Rhydin.  Together, they made their way into the city to find a place to stay until they could find a way home.  They took a room together, thinking it wiser in an unknown land for her, and especially for Celeste.  In a very short time, however, she found a feeling stirring inside her... a feeling she thought lost forever; and a feeling that brought her some guilt, as she still loved Allivon, she did not know of his fate or if he would return, and she could not bring herself to usurp Allivon's place for Celeste.  For some time, she tried to deny what she felt for him; his kindness and caring towards Celeste, however, looking over her as well or better than any father would, completely melted her, however.  The fact that he was a vampire, and thus would live even longer than she or Celeste, only made the conviction stronger.  Surely this, now, he, was the one to complete her, and to be the father that Celeste had been without benefit of yet so richly deserved.
