Lissa Dragomir
Lissa Dragomir was born some 600 years ago, in what is now known as Romania.  She, like all of her family, was born a Lupine.  Aside from the 'complications' that inspired, her childhood was quite normal and happy.

It was near the end of her twenties, however, that she met a young man named Daedelus Splatch.  Although most of the world dismisses such beings as legend, they recognized each other immediately for what they were: she, a Lupine; him, a Vampire.  They skirted around each other warily at first, but it did not take long before not only did they trust each other, but they fell in love.  In a time when marriage was a very important decision, not only for the young couple involved, but for their entire families, this presented a number of problems.  The foremost among those problems being that her family by no means approved; Vampires and Lupines were almost as close to diametrically opposed as it was possible to get -  usually meetings between the two kinds ended in the death of one or the other.  Also against him was the fact that he was from England.  In time, however, she flew in the face of her parents' wishes and married him anyway.  She did not, however, take his last name; while she loved him deeply, there are some things even love cannot make one do.

Time passed, as it always does; they were almost ridiculously happy together, despite their contradictory histories.  When a new land - known as the Americas - was discovered, Lissa and Daedelus, both lovers of adventure, soon moved there.  A novel could be written on all that happened to them from then to the present, but this is not the appropriate venue for that.

In more recent times, Daedelus chose to join a local University, amusing himself by taking classes of Mythology and Folklore.  His Professor in that class was a man by the name of Stephen Tosca.  Stephen was fascinated by all of the old stories and legends; he did not seem to know what Daedelus had recognized the moment he met the man - that he was, in fact, one of those legends, although Daedelus could not recognize what, exactly.

When, however, the young Professor met a young lady by the name of Keradia Harsen, and began to fall in love with her only to find out that she was a half-succubus - which incidentally only made him more attracted to her rather than less - Lissa and Daedelus decided to step in and aid the two of them.  This led to a fast and sure friendship between the four of them.

Then one day as they were visiting Stephen and Keradia, the strangest thing happened.  One minute, they were at the table in the back yard, playing cards; the next moment they found themselves outside a city in a strange land.  The city, they would come to learn, was named Arytiris Benerel, in the kingdom of Vanyanin Aran'dor, on a world known only as Or'anya Kaimelor - the Land of Real Dreams.  It seems that strangers have been brought here from all across the heavens, and ages, by all the myriad gods...  though for what exact purpose, is yet to be seen.
