However, when she returned, she found nothing more than smoking ruins and corpses.. her tribe had been viciously attacked and destroyed. After shearing her hair in mourning, she set out, swearing to discover who had done this, and to take vengeance on whoever it was. She soon realized that she could not do that and stay true to her Quest; and so she Marked herself as a follower of the Path of the Sword - three thin cuts on either cheek, rubbed with sand to assure they would scar.
Since that time, she has found that she was, in fact, not the only survivor of the shattered Nauvillitse... a few had been away from the village like herself, and some - mostly elders and children - had been taken as slaves to the human Empire at the edge of the Rifts.
Despite the fact that being Marked would have made her a bare step above Outcast to the tribe, Les'keiva has stepped up to the position of Speaker for the Nauvillitse, as there is no other fit to take the responsibility. She now journeys, trying to find the scattered remnants of her people and bring them home safely, to try and revive their lives and Paths and Ways.
