Asheyra
::she looks out from under tumbles of thick black hair, her intensely bright blue eyes giving her a crazed look, especially when combined with her pale skin.  Normally clad in a black front-and-back flap style skirt, and a very breif sort of halter top, though she doesn't appear to be flaunting...  more uncaring.  Always now can be seen the two petite fangs that mark her as a vampire::
              A Varied Past...
Asheyra was was originaly from a place far from Rhydin.  She born into a powerful family.  At an early age she learned that she, as all her family, were very adept mages.  Shortly after her first and only daughter was born, she became the head of her House after her mother died.  Time passed, as it always does, and war broke out among the Houses.  Although her own House was very small, it was one of the most powerful, yet Asheyra kept them strictly neutral.  None of the factions were happy about one of the greatest houses being neutral, and, inevitably, they were attacked, and Asheyra taken prisoner.  The faction that held her contacted her daughter, and told her that is she did not declare in their favor, they would inflict eternal torment upon Asheyra.  Her daughter, Telleyra, however, knew how her mother felt about this, and told them that she would never declare for them.  They did exactly as they had threatened.  They locked her into a small glass capsule and placed her body in stasis, leaving her mind fully aware, and launched her into space.  She floated there in the cold and solitude for centuries, slowly working on her magical abilities.  Eventually, she found a way to launch her essence from her body, and she began towards what she thought was home, hoping to find some trace of her daughter or descendants.  What she did not realize yet was that when she launched her essence from her body, she also launched it from her dimension, and she ended up in Rhydin.  Knowing she could never fit in as she was, a small glowing blue sphere, she began to accumulate a bit of tissue here, a few cells there, until she had built the body people know her with now.
Not long after her work was completed and she could wander this new realm freely, she was attacked one night by a strange man who bit her neck, cut his wrist and dripped some blood into her mouth, then disappeared again.  She found this very odd, but not knowing what it meant, she simply went about her business.  Over the next several days, she began to notice changes...  confused by them, she asked a kindly human, who explained to her that the changes meant she was becoming a vampire.  She spoke with him for some time, and eventualy they grew very close.  She hated what she had become, but he convinced her that she was not a thing to be despised.  When one of her oldest friends found out, however, it came out that he was a sworn hunter of vampires...  there was a long and unpleasant face-off, which ended in him killing her body.  She was returned to the spheroid form, and had to rebuild her body...  but because of the man's love, and delight in her nature, she rebuilt it as it had been killed...  as a vampire.  She swore, however, to feed only from the willing.  Soon, however, he disappeared, and she was left alone again.
Since that time, she wandered the realms alone, finding others she grew close to for a time, but always they left her.  She grew more and more bitter each time.
Eventually she would meet a man who seemed her opposite in every way; he was 'good' and 'pure' almost to a fault, but somehow they seemed to compliment each other almost perfectly.  She grew closer to him almost daily, until they seemed near inseperable..  but she eventually had to leave for a time to deal with personal matters, and neglected to tell him she would be gone; she thought them close enough that it was unnecessary.  However, when she returned, she found how wrong that assumption had been..  thinking her gone for good, he had 'moved on', and had found another woman to be with.
Losing him nearly destroyed her, and she fully embraced her vampiric nature.  She began joy in the hunt, and in the kill.  She grew more and more reclusive, seldom being seen by any but those about to become her victims.
After years of this, however, she returned to the caves that he had inhabited, and came in contact with him once more...  only to find that he had cursed losing her as much as she had losing him.  Once more, they seem to have found love and joy with one another... though she can only hope that such is really true, and that this time, perhaps, it will last.
