    Mega Man X 3

    By Corey

Two games in and the X series still goes strong. After a good start, the second was a bit disappointing. This time, Capcom would make sure this was a classic.

    Graphics: 10

Easily the best of the series (on the SNES anyway). When you come to the first boss, you'll notice how huge and detailed they are. They look a lot different from the other two games. Other great effects come into play too. You'll notice lights flickering on and off, effecting how light and dark it is in the room. Sometimes you'll see it switch from night to day. The weapons used in the game also look a lot more impressive. The explosions are top notch too.

    Gameplay: 10

Ah, back to the original. Like always: 8 hearts, 4 Sub-Tanks, 4 capsules, 4 armor enhancers. Wait, 4 armor enhancers? In addition to the 4 capsules that upgrade your armor, there are 4 other enhancers around the game. They upgrade your armor even more. The catch is that you can only have 1 of these. So make sure you choose the right one, because you can't switch later. There are also 4 mechs that you'll have to find in order to find all the other secrets. So overall, there is plenty of stuff to do in this game. Unlike X2, these items involve more thinking to find, rather than skill.

Unlike almost all other games in the whole Mega Man series, finding the boss' weakness doesn't mean giving it tons of damage. Instead, it basically stops them from using their best attacks. In this game more than ever do you need to find their weaknesses. Otherwise they just go on with an all out flurry of attacks that make most of them unbeatable without having those Hearts and Sub-Tanks.

    Sound: 8

More of the same. Same sound effects from the other games. This time with much better music to go along with the game though.

    Lasting Value: 10

Finding all the items and secrets will take a bit longer than in the other games. You can also take multiple paths for who you face in the last set of levels, depending on who you beat in the first eight. So there is tons of replay found in this game.

    Bottom Line

Best game in the series. It's the longest, most fun, and most challenging game and any fan of action games will love this. If you can find it anywhere, I'd recommend this for a purchase.

Final Score: 10 out of 10
