Mega Man X
By
Corey
The Mega Man
series has been a huge one. After 6 NES games, 1
SNES game, and multiple Game Boy games, Capcom
decided to take the series to a new level. That
is why we have Mega Man X!
Graphics:

Nice
color for an earlier SNES game. The backgrounds
are nice and most enemies have a good amount of
detail. It is definately made to look like a
future world. X looks a little too plain early
one, but that'll change quickly.
Gameplay:

If
you don't know what how gameplay works in Mega
Man games, you shouldn't be here. You go across
the level shooting robots while avoiding all
sorts of other traps. At the end of the level,
you fight a boss. If you win, you get its power.
You use that power to defeat other bosses, since
they all have a weakness to one of the other
bosses' weapons. In this game, it is easily
possible to defeat the bosses with just using
your standard X-Buster, but using other weapons
makes it too simple.
Of
course, there are secrets to find. In each stage
there is one heart, and finding a heart increases
your health meter a bit. There are also 4
Sub-Tanks, which store extra life for when your
health meter is low. In addition, there are also
4 capsules hidden in 4 different levels. These
contain armor enhancements that increase your
abilities. Finding all of these items will be the
key to beating the game.
Sound:
8
You
got your basic shooting, running, and explosion
sounds. Nothing too major about those. A mix
between good and bad music also is in the game.
Lasting
Value: 8
The
actual game is short. Beatable in one sitting.
This is the type of game you'll want to beat a
few times though, so overall you should get a lot
of gameplay from it.
Bottom
Line
A
good game all around. Addicting gameplay and
being able to take any path you want keep the
game fresh even after beating it multiple times.
Final
Score: 8 out of 10
