    San Francisco RUSH: Extreme Racing

    By Jorden

In N64's software library there is an over abundance of racing games. Some are fun, others are not, some are childish, and others are not. Is SFRUSH worth the money or should it be turned into scrap metal?

    Graphics: 8

Graphics are really good although sometimes aren't accurate (pink buildings in downtown SF??). There are many hills and other minor details such as fountains, busses, and many trees that can be run over on your race through the hilly city.

    Game Play: 8

Fast speed (but there are faster) and insane stunts make for one fun ride. 6-8 keys are hidden on every level making for a fun and challenging scavenger hunt. By the way tracking down half the keys gets you a taxi for that course only but finding all keys gets you a hot rod. Winning a circuit unlocks another special car. Is there a special track somewhere in this game??

    Sound: 9

Good rock/alternative soundtrack to give you the need for speed. The engines, and explosions (yes you can blow up your car in a botched stunt attempt) sound realistic. The "what's your name" song after the race is priceless.

    Lasting Value: 9

Good racing game that has replayability everywhere. The 24 race circuit can eat up a whole day, as the races are 5+ minutes each. Let's not forget the shortcuts!

    Bottom Line

Insanely fun racer with lots of high jumps and insane stunts. Better than a lot of racers for "the fun machine".

Final Score: 8 out of 10 (this is not an average)

ESRB rating K-A (now changed to E) for Kids - Adults (Everyone)
