    Conker's Bad Fur Day

    by Jorden

Conker the squirrel went out drinking one night... the next day when he woke up near a corn patch his Bad Fur Day began.

    Story: 10

The story is great. You start off just trying to get home to go to bed but many other little things pop up and it is all linked together perfectly. Whether you are fighting the Great Mighty Poo, or riding a raptor it just finds its place.

    Graphics: 9

No noticeable pop up, somewhat bright and vibrant colors, as one person put it you take Donkey Kong but put a squirrel in the ape's place. One thing that docks the one mark is poo looks like prune juice (different colors of course) and when any fluid is moving vertically (besides water) it looks like the Raidar Jam from Spaceballs...

    Gameplay: 10

Best that a platformer can get. All the basic moves that make a platformer a platformer, and the Context Sensitive pads give you everything else you'll need. It also has a bit of everything, racing, First Person Shooting, tank driving, and the multiplayer is quite unique as well.

    Sound: 10

The sound here is great. Everything is voice acted and the sounds are suburb. If something is supposed to be drunk their speech is slurred. The only sound that isn't really appropriate in a video game (except it fits the scene) is the one that is played when the bee pollinates the flower (use your imagination).

    Lasting Value: 5

This is the one thing that hits this game hard. By the in game clock I beat it within 6 hours. Granted if platformers aren't your thing it can take you longer but this game under no circumstances is a long game, and while the multiplayer is fun it's nowhere near as much fun as GE, PD, or WWFNM. Even if there was a scene you wanted to see over you won't have to replay the game either... there is a handy chapters menu that lets you select just about any scene from the game.

    Bottom Line

Well this game is not as mature as it was made out to be... in fact I think it would appeal to the immature minds more... if you like/liked South Park you have a fairly good idea what kind of things to expect with this game. If you like long platformers just rent this one. I personally feel that it is one of the best N64 games and am playing through it again the second time.

    Closing Quote:
"You see those buttons? Actually you'll find that they, um, they're called Context Sensitive and... uh... well... actually they yeah... uh... Press B. Oh yeah, the light comes on, and it makes this noise, TING! There's a ting noise."
Conker pulls out a bottle of Liquor which Birdy quickly drinks.
    "What's that mean?"
"It means its Context Sensitive, it's... sensitive... to... context."
-- Birdy (The drunk scarecrow) describing what a Context Sensitive button is.

Final Score: 9 out of 10

Rated M for Mature (17+) with warnings of Strong Language, Mature Sexual Themes, and Animated Violence.
