    Ready 2 Rumble

    By Jorden

I've never really been a fan of boxing but something about this game seemed to grab me and refuse to let me go. Was it the scrawny African-American with a big ' fro on the cover or just the fact that I liked the DC version?

    Graphics: 9

These Graphics are amazing they could have been a little better during the actual match but you can tell who's who easily and everything is brightly colored. The character intros are just like the PSX, N64, and DC versions minus the sound. The best I have ever seen on GB yet.

    Game Play: 7

Every button and direction are used to throw a variety of different punches. The rumble cart is a little annoying because it rumbles every time a punch hits anyone not just yourself. The career mode is a little shallow.

    Sound: 8

One of the games strong points. There are digital voice clips from the man Michael Buffer himself. "Let's get ready to RUMBLE!" And the resemblance of him is uncanny.

    Lasting Value: 6

Only 10 boxers that are only cosmetically different and a shallow career mode won't keep you coming back to this game. Link mode was sadly not included and R2R would have greatly benefited from it.

    Bottom Line

This is one fun game that you can just pick up and play. Simple push button codes, that you receive in career mode, are required to unlock the 3 hidden boxers. The game would have benefited from battery save and link cable support. With battery save you could save your record, as well as how many punches thrown/landed and a % which are displayed after your match anyway.

Final Score: 7 out of 10 (this is not an average)
