Reasons for its Early Demise
The original price of $179
was a huge turnoff to most gamers.
Lack of software/3rd party
support. Only 14 games were released (22
in Japan).
Lack of colors (monochrome).
Only one player (link cable
was never released).
Not virtual (just 3D). It
wasn't what people thought it would be.
Eats up batteries in less
then 6 hours! If you didn't have an AC
Adapter, you would be spending a lot of
extra money on this thing.
Not really portable. Too big
to carry around, and you really needed to
be seated to play it.
The press hated it and
predicted a quick demise. When the press
hates something, they seem to force you
to hate it as well.
