Name of the Game
Even
though Star Cube is the name, it won't effect
Nintendo's game.

Most of you wanted
the name Dolphin. A lot of you absolutely hate
the name Star Cube. Does Nintendo care what you
think? The answer seems to be no lately. Though
you may despise the name, it doesn't mean
anything. No matter what it is named, it won't
change a thing.
Do you remember
when Nintendo announced that the system was code
named Dolphin? Remember when most people hated
it? Neither do I. We've all gotten used to this
name by now. It'll most likely happen if the
system becomes Star Cube too. If you hate the
name so much just call it SC, or maybe just call
it by Dolphin. People will still know what you're
talking about.
If Nintendo does
call the system Star Cube, does that mean Mario
won't be making it's way to it? Surely Zelda
won't be effected because of the new name. None
of the other franchises will be either. The only
things that'll be different are boxes,
advertisements, and anything else that says the
system name. It won't effect the shape of the
controller or the system. Even if the thing is
shaped like a box, there is a good chance it was
already a box before they came up with the name.
Ok, so the name
will effect some things. People who haven't
researched gaming a bit and are going to buy a
system may look at the names to help them choose.
Presentation is important after all. If I saw 5
boxes, each one had a different name - Dreamcast,
Indreama, Playstation 2, Star Cube, and X-Box -
which one would I choose? Actually, I think they
all are pretty bad at first glance. But I think
you know what I mean. If the name sucks, a few
people will be turned off.
In conclusion, if
the system does indeed become Star Cube in the
next month, you'll get over it. If you are a
gamer, in the long run you'll only care about the
games anyway.
Of course, if the
logo ends of being crap...
