History of Mario

Mario made his first videogame debut in the arcade game "Donkey Kong" which was released in 1981. In this game, he was a carpenter named Jumpman. His purpose in the game was to rescue his girlfriend named Pauline from the seriously pissed off ape named Donkey Kong. His next videogame appearance was in the sequel to Donkey Kong which was called Donkey Kong Jr.In this game, his name was changed to Mario and he was (believe it or not) the villan of the game. Mario was finally credited with his own videogame in 1983. His game was called "Mario Bros." This game also co-stars Mario's brother, Luigi. In this game, the Mario Bros. occupations were changed to plumbers, the purpose of this game was to eliminate more enemies than your opponent, within a certain time limit. Eventualy, The Mario Brothers were given their own game for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) called "The Super Mario Bros." Since then, Mario has starred in a countless number of games and Nintendo has sold at least 150 million Mario games. Pretty good for an 8-bit plumber, wouldn't you say?
