| . You should all be familiar with Nintendo's most beloved second party developer, Rare. They have brought us such hits as Goldeneye, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Jemini, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong and many many more. All of Rare's games have been huge hits and exclusivly for Nintendo since the big N owns 49% of the company's shares. However, last year brought minimal income for Nintendo from Rare, and put Nintendo in an awkward spot. That was, until, Microsoft comes along with their mountains of money and offers to buy Nintendo's shares of Rare for lots of mulah. And unfotunatley, Nintendo accepted. Yes, you read right... Microsoft is buying Rare from Nintendo. This means that Starfox Adventures will be the last Rare game exclusivly for a Nintendo system. For any die hard Nintendo fan, this news should be enough to make you cringe and curl into a quivering ball of tears. Nintendo, Rare, and Microsoft have still not made an official announcment of this but what you have heard comes from a reliable inside source. You can hope and pray that this is not true. But unfortunatly all signs point to one fact. Microsoft will soon own Rare as an exclusive second party developer for the Xbox. |
