Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.
This Game has been in the making for 5 years and it shows in many ways. Its is a genre all it's own. Psychological Thriller. Silicon Knights, (the developers) originally created it as an N64 game but perfected and tweaked it until it is what it is today. Plainly said, One of the best video games EVER. It has a complicated Magick system for battling in which you can use different types of magick to upgrade your historically acurate weapons and you can target specific body parts of your opponents. The camera system of this game is one of the best of any game. Volumetric fogging helps create spooky enviornments along with real time lighting and other technical feats! The graphics are very good with bump mapping and nice textures. there are of course some places with exeptions. The story is very complicated so I will not go into it. Besides, we don't want any spoilers do we?
Of course the thing that makes this game coolest is the sanity meter. The more
zombies or skeletons you fight the more you go insane. The more insane you are- well, lets just say that stuff happens.
Overall it is safe to say that this is a GREAT game, so I suggest you go buy it if you think you can handle it. With it's blend of amazing graphics, gameplay, storyline, magick system, insanity meter, and tons of other cool whatchamacallits, it's one game you don't want to be left in the dark on.
