Cancer Pain

"Although cure may not be attainable in many cancer patients, the obligations of healthcare professionals to these clients are no less than to clients for whom a cure is achievable. Effective cancer-related pain management has a profound impact on the quality of life, and if terminal, pain management may give the patient the opportunity to face death with dignity and reduced suffering."

Zorn, M., Rowland, J.H. & Varricchio C.G.(2002). Symptom Management in cancer: Pain, depression, and fatigue. Bethesda, MD: National Library of Medicine.
