Research

Although marihuana has been illegal in Canada for decades, research on the medicinal properties and their uses have been, and continue to be researched world-wide.

Researchers are exploring both benefits and risks related to the use of marijuana. As the research of cannabis’ medicinal qualities is becoming more accepted in mainstream society, so is the possibility that it may provide valuable relief to those suffering from several different health concerns.

At one time information concerning the use of marijuana was kept either classified information for a select few individuals or was illegally attained through underground channels. Today research information is not only available to the public but, it is being recognized and advertised by medical professionals.

At this time it is almost impossible to list the different areas and ways that marijuana is being researched. Although there are studies about negative effects have been available for decades, the positive aspect of the use of marijuana such as: the effect of marijuana on nausea, anorexia, pain, and comfort are being explored in greater depth.
