Entanglement, Chapter 3:  Magrat

A/N:  I've had sooo much to do...but I'm unemployed now so I can write! Enjoy! Anit-Disclaimer: I own it ALLLLL!!!

~~~~~
        Gretchen opened her eyes. It had been 2 days since she had lost Tobias. She lay naked and hungry on the stone floor of her room, clutching a note to Tobias in Magrat's hand. 'I will have you,' it said. Gretchen sat up and shivered. Tobias...did he truly go to her willingly? There were ways to attract some one to you magically...Painful ways...
        Gretchen pulled on a long black dress and put a mesh veil over her tousled hair. Walking out of her chambers, she left in search of Venne.
***
        Venne opened her eyes. The blood was cooling around her. She sat up in the round wooden tub and stretched. Standing, she chanted the evokation that dismissed the spirits. A dark skinned human servant rushed forward with a towel. Venne looked at her appraisingly.
        "Zandrina, do you thikn I'm monster, for the things I do?" The girl looked shocked.
        "No, my dark mistress. You are a Goddess."
        Venne turned and strode into her bedchamber and opened her armoire. Feeling eyes on her perfect ivory skin, Venne turned and caught Zandrina's appreciative look, directed at her naked body. Smirking, she sauntered towards the girl, dropping the towel. She stood there, glowing in the firelight.
        "Zandrina, come serve your Goddess..." The girl rushed eargerly forth, exposing her neck. As Venne caressed the girl's soft nape, she drew back her lips from her fangs to strike. Zandrina hissed in pleasure as she felt fang bite skin. Bucking and moaning, Zandrina's eyes suddenly burned leopard gree.
        When Venne released Zandrina, the lycanthrope changed from human to great cat in seconds; she lay there, recovering, as Venne continued dressing.
***
        Tobias opened his eyes. He felt Magrat curled beside him and shuddered. She'd taken him again last night; she seemed to enjoy it when he struggled, his cries to Gretchen exciting her.
        A knock sounded at the door. Magrat stirred and locked Tobias up before answering it. Tobias' heart nearly stopped when Gretchen followed Magrat into the room. She was dressed as if for a funeral, ad her face showed that she'd been crying. Her gaze lingered on him sadly and her eyes widened at the dog collare and chain holding him next to the couch.
        "Is that really necessary?" Her voice was so sad, so scared; Tobias could feel his heart breaking.
        Magrat sat next to him and stroked him like a favored pet. "He keeps trying to run away," Magrat chuckled darkly.
        Gretchen's eyes filled with sympathetic tears. "Please, Magrat, you promised..."
        Magrat frowned and unhooked Tobias, tossing his chain at Gretchen. Catching it, she uncollared him and held him to her.
        Tobias shuddered and sobbed against her, crying and murmuring her name over and over. He clutched at her tighter when he saw the look on Magrat's face. Gretchen picked him up and carried him out.
***
        Gretchen rubbed Tobias' back slowly, rhythmically. He was so bruised, so scared. She kissed him lightly on his shoulder. The scent of him awakened her slumbering lust for him. Her kisses went to his neck, his cheek, his mouth. He kissed her back, pulling her to him. She pulled away slightly and smiled at him, pushing him back onto the bed. She climbed on top of him and looked into his eyes, but he pushed her off of him and walked over to the fire. Gretchen sat up, hugging herself. She went to him, tried to wrap her arms around him, but he stiffened in her embrace, and pulled away.
        And all he could do was sob, "I can't."
