| March 23,2003 This upcoming week is an important one. As of now I have no clue if my parents are moving a block away from here or across the country..we are depending on the actions of others to determine our fates..my fate will be (somewhat) influenced by theirs. In other news, I am reading a book that I am really into right now. I only say this to explain for the minimal content of this entry. The book is The Elephant Man. I have always wanted to read it but have always been frightened by tear jerkers. You can't hide from the truth though, and I think Elephant Man depicts human nature in a sadly realistic way. We can only begin to learn from our faults after we recognize them. I've had a nice weekend. I am looking forward to getting through this next week because afterwards awaits Spring Break. I really think I'll be going to the movies or renting a movie soon. Why is this such a big deal? I am ashamed at the fact that I have not been following recent movie releases. I cannot use the excuse that there is nothing out there because there are tons of things that appeal to me. I am just to cheap, lazy, and careful with my time. Last night I watched the Independent Spirit Awards and EVERYONE commented on the war. Michael Moore had the best statement. During his acceptance speech for "Bowling For Columbine" he pointed out that the students at Columbine are learning, from Bush, the terrible lesson that problems should be solved by violence. I thought that was a wonderful sentiment. Back |
