Wow i think i must have set a whole new record for slacking. So much has happened in the last few months that i doubt i can remeber most of it, but i'll give you a breif rundown - the tour was ace, we met so many cool people and had an amazing time (the diary will be online at some point), we had a show in alex's bedroom with an awesome german grindcore band called Entrails Out! (apparently there's a video online which i'll try and find the link to) who were one of the best bands and some of the coolest people we've ever seen/met, we hosted Snowblood from scotland on their first english tour (they were also unbelievably nice people and a brilliant band, and i personally had an amazing time putting them up/hanging out with them) and we had another gig in skipton. While this was a great show and all the bands were awesome, it was marred by a bunch of dickheads trying to ruin our fun. I for one would like to say a great big thank you to all the kids who stuck together, stood up for themselves and told them to fuck off, you guys rule. Well thats pretty much all i can remember, i'll update the gigs list as best as i can, but there's gaps that WILL be filled in asap.

As for the future, the demo is FINALLY out (email us if you want one) we've got more gigs (including the 3 day fast fest), a possible tour in scotland with Snowblood, and we're going to record all the new songs for more records (including a possible split 7" with snowblood) so keep your eyes out and i promise i'll try to update more regularly.

don't forget to check the guestbook and message board for gig news and such.

peace out homies

edd

ps if anyone picked up a cd at the skipton gig email us your address and we'll send you the inlay/lyrics.

pps go and see converge at josephs well tomorrow (tuesday 17th)

25 June 2002

We're going on tour - it was meant to be two weeks, but we've only managed to get 6 dates. I couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Never mind, theres a link to the page here, not sure where all the venues are exactly, but i'm sure you'll be able to find out. There's also another Skipton show with Stand, D-Rail, Charlie Don't Surf, Eighty Six and (back for a third time) Charlie Don't Surf. As usaul it's at the town hall, £2 in and all ages, and as usual it's gonna rock hard. We're also going to be going back into the "studio" (well, mate's basement) to record some new songs which we have no idea how we'll be releasing. There's a few more pictures up aswell, includng some really cool one's from mosh against the monarchy which was an awesome fucking day - cheers Ewan and Bradders and Mez and xPaulx for sorting us with a bass amp at the last minute. Thanks so much to everyone who's putting us on on the tour, you rule. Anyone who wants a copy of the demo email us.

that's all for now

Wow, not updated in over a month, sorry for being so slack. Well we haven't got many gigs planned for the near future cos three of the Down have got their A-Levels so all we're playing at the moment is the Mosh Against The Monarchy Fest, click the link to check out the awesome lineup and what it's all about. The demos inching ever further towards getting out, but i've made some tapes up for anyone who can't wait (um, right). If you want one just email the band with your address and i'll try and send you one as soon as. If anyones already done it and hasn't recieved one yet email us again and shout at me til i do. I've also put some MP3s up from the demo. To download them right click and "save target as".

After the A-Levels, there's another Skipton gig (WAY!). The lineup's not confirmed yet but as ever it's going to rock hard. This will also be the first date on a two week tour of England. It looks like we'll have a date pretty much every night and should be a lot of fun, as soon as i have all the details confirmed i'll post them up.

That's all for now

Take care

Ed

09.04.02

We fucked up with regard to the Dance of Days which was gutting cos we were really looking forward to it and we're sorry to the Reason To Believe fellas for pulling out at the last minute. I've taken down the guestboo cos i can't see the point in having one and a message board at the same time. We're playing a show in Leeds this thursday which has been put on by our good friend Paul (check the gig section), looks like it's gonna be pretty rocking with Human Fly (ex-Canvas stoner rock kind of thing) and Red Stars Parade (early Deftones style metal stuff) and Our Ghosts (first gig). We're also playing our first gig in Manchester with Seein'-fuckin'-Red and Shikari at the Redhouse on the 29th, which will be awesome. Theres some photos from the last RTB benefit we played and our birthday basement show up, and the cover for our Historic Market Town Hardcore CDR. We're also going to be recording for a split 7" very soon (not sure if it's been confirmed yet, so no more details i'm afraid) which should be fucking amazing. We're also looking to tour sometime in the summer so if anyone can help with gigs and stuff it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks

Edd

25.03.02

The Skipton show was awesome and all the bands tore the house down (especially TSUA). Thanks to the bands, the people who came out to support it, and to everyone who helped out. Our next gig is a Reason To Believe benefit at the 1 in 12. There's some films on Riot Grrrl and the DC punk scene as well as 5 or 6 bands playing so it should be rockin'. I've also added many links to good sites, including the Jaded By Excess band site (Driven Down before Driven Down). Enjoy.

Edd

09/03/02

Well, unfortunately HHH had to pull out of the Skipton show, but we've got an amazing replacement in Thirty Seconds Until Armageddon, who're gonna decimate the town hall. Bring the mosh.

05/03/02

Well, i'm a lazy bastard so the site's not been updated in ages - sorry. The CD's all recorded and mastered and stuff, so now all we're waiting for is cover art. We've played some more ace gigs with band like Beecher, Red Stars Parade and Mihoen that i didn't put on the website, aswell as a really cool basement show that was sorted by Ash and Charlie Don't Surf for our first birthday - thanks a lot. We have some more coming up, including another at Skipton Fukking Town Hall, and a benefit for Lancashire asylum seekers. If the Skipton gig's anywhere near as good as the last one, then you won't want to miss out, and the asylum seeker benefit is for a very worthy cause indeed, and will have speeches, discussion, etc - it looks like it's taken a shitload of effort to organise so turn out and give your support. We're also gonna be recording for a split 7" soon, but we're not sure which band it'll be with yet, it's gonna be fucking awesome to have a 7" out. I think that's about all for the moment, I promise to update a bit more regularly from now on :).

22/1/2

The CD recording last Saturday went really well - we got 10 tracks down, and the sound quality is really good. Thanks loads to Kev Robot for engineering it all. We've had a really positive response to the request for gigs, so thanks for everyone who's offered and we've got a couple of shows coming up in the next 2 weeks so check the gigs section for those. Oh yeah, we've got a message board forum type thing now, so feel free to use and abuse us.

Cheers

Edd

15/01/02

Well it's been a long time since the site was last updated, so I thought I may as well do the whole thing over cos the last one was shit. Quite a bit of stuff has happened since the Skipton gig (which we had an amazingly positive response from - thanks very much), we've played some shows, written some new songs, and we're going in to record 10 tracks for a CD very soon. Thanks to Farrell, Si and the Sheffield collective for putting us on, and thanks to Kev, Steve Watts, Farrell, and anyone else who's helping put this CD out. We're always up for playing gigs so get in touch if you want your town rocked Skipton-style.

Peace

Edd

PS - Thanks very much to Dan ([email protected]) for helping me out a shitload with the re-design.

6th October -

We've finally got a date, venue (and a nearly full line-up) sorted for our first Skipton gig - 16th November, Skipton Town Hall (punk as fuck), all ages. The bands that have confirmed so far are melodic ska-rockers Buzzkill, our good friends Charlie Don't Surf with their weed-fuelled punk rockery, an as yet unnamed "fast, mental, thrash hardcore band", and one more band to still confirm. You'd be mad to miss this gig.

Oh yeah, plenty of tapes still available - just send 50p and a stamp and we'll get one down to you. Only thing is you'll have to email us first cos i'm not about to put my address on the internet :).

10th September

Well, we've finally got our first release out. The "Unleash The Fury" tape has all 20 or so Driven Down songs, including stuff we don't play anymore, and is the first recording out on our "Fuck Talent, Let's Rock" label. They're 50p each, and you can get copies from us at shows, or you can email us. The quality's pretty bad, but that's what you get when you record in Alex's bedroom.

More ace news - we've got a firm date for the recording of the CD, and that's the 23rd September. As soon as all the inlay stuff's sorted out, it'll be hitting the streets

Even MORE ace news - We've got three gigs sorted out for the near future, including a benefit for the Reason To Believe fanzine, a fucking unbelieveable 2 day fest in October, and the official "Leeds Gig Of The Year" (tm) on Halloween (see shows).

Yet more news - possibly best of all, we've finally found a venue to put gigs on in Skipton. When October rolls around we'll be bringing DIY punkrock to our hometown through the "Youths with Fez" collective. Expect to see brutal hardcore, punk fuckin' rock, and even some wimpy emo tearing down Skipton Town Hall.6th August 01

Right, Alex and Andy are on holiday so trying to organise stuff is pretty chaotic at the moment. Hopefully we'll have two shows ready when Alex gets back, one of those will be followed by the recording of a demo. As i said, i'm not exactly sure when all the band will be in the country so it's difficult setting any specific dates for the recording but it will be done before the end of the month. Anyway, check the shows out, check Al's message from "Sarf Africa". Thats about it.

1 July 01

Hopefully gonna have more shows coming up soon, as ever we'll keep you updated. Designed some stickers which i'd like to get printed off soon [unlike Steve W I can't abuse an office :)]. Recording in the very near future, just waiting for the final confirmation from Matt. 4.0. In general things are looking pretty rosy.

Until next time

Edd

22nd June 01

Two bits of good news (for us anyway): Firstly I've taken the liberty of designing what i think is a pretty nifty little logo. I doubt its gonna be the "official" one (or whatever) but i've been working on logos for a while and have finally come up with one i like. There was a pretty cool one that was inspired by the Daredevil (comic book guy) logo but it has to be hand-drawn and i don't have a scanner so this computer one will have to do for the minute. This is also gonna be a banner if anyone is good enough to link to our site. Another bit of even better news is that we are probably gonna do a CD in the very near future. Some work of genius has made it completely free to record (thanks Matt) so we can keep the costs down pretty low, but i'm gonna wait till the whole bad has a chance to talk about price rather than speak on their behalf, but it will be pretty cheap so there's no excuse to not join the madnesss. Anyway, thats about it for now. Oh yeah, if anyone knows any good mailing list type software could you send me a mail with a link and stuff (and sign up while you're at it).

Cheers

18th June 01

The show yesterday with Symbiosis, Fig. 4.0, KMP, In The Clear and 30 Seconds Until Armageddon was brilliant so thanks to Ewan for putting us on and thanks to everyone who showed up. Despite the number of fuckups we played a pretty good set and had nothing but positive comments from people, so thanks again. The other bands all rocked and we're grateful to have been on with them. We'll keep you informed of our next date.

Seeya later

12th June 01

We've finally got some more shows coming up, and we've managed to write about 6 more songs which sound pretty good. If you can make it catch us at the 1in12 in Bradford at the Sunday School Hardcore Alldayer with 30 Seconds Until Armageddon, In The Clear, Fig. 4.0 and more. We should have a few more gigs around Leeds/Bradford in the near future so we'll keep you posted. I've added a photos section where I put the photos I nicked from the Infinite Monkey page. Anyway, thats about it.

See you in the pit

Edd

19th April 01

Well it's been a quiet old month. There's been no gigs and I haven't been able to make hardly any practices (sorry). Anyways, I got an email from Matt Fig 4.0 that said that we should be able to do some recording as soon as they get their album done (which I'd highly recommend checking out if their live shows are anything to go by, and which'll be out on Bombed Out), which should be brilliant. I don't know how many copies will be made but you'd best get em while they're hot. They won't cost more than £2 each, so you have no excuse. We might also be playing on the local legs of their tour with Four Letter Word and Joe Ninety which will be very cool indeed.

I've added a big ol' links section too, so if you want your site linking just mail us.

More good news, we have our first bit of merch available - official Driven Down Stickers (ooooh, aaaaah). If you want one I'm sure you'll see us around somewhere. If you just can't wait just email us.

Cheers

Edd

25th March 01

The gig on Friday at Dewsbury was really good so thanks to all the people who showed and danced and stuff. I got a bit too carried away but never mind.

Anyway, it looks like we're not playing at the Vic ever again cos loads of metal twats nicked a load of stuff (including a microphone) so we're looking pretty fucked for the gig with 86 and Diefenbecker (?) so I'm fairly pissed off. Oh yeah, and i don't think we can play next Friday either cos Andys going to the Easter Ball at school.

Oh well, i'll be going to it anyway i think, aswell as madball and f-minus (possibly named after the a level grades i'm gonna get)

cyas at the gig
