Some Other Place
Daily Press reviewer Shelley Rauch and her husband went to Taphouse at Queens Way. They walked in to see a full house. They had a standing bar there filled with people and smoke. The couple went upstairs and was seated by a cheerful waitress, who took the time to answer all there questions. Their drinks were brought to them, A Allagash White Ale and a Hefeweizen, both were $5 and both were satisfying. Chicken liver was the first food to make it to the table: it was crispy on the out side, tender in the middle, and wrapped in bacon. Next to the table was a Caesar salad, it was big and appealing. The entre was fresh soft-shell crabs, and came with golden French fries, and where the fries the lady has had in a while. The husband got fried chicken, it was crunchy, and crispy and was extremely tasty; it came with mashed potatoes and the vegetables of the day. At the end the waitress offered dessert, but it was late so the couple didn't take it. (Rauch)
