CLASSIC TWO STROKE MOTORCYCLES

The true beauty of the classic two stroke motorcycle is the "power to weight" ratio. The two stroke engine is light weight by its very design. It has no valves cams or lifters. Combustion is a two step process. Intake, compression & ignition exhaust. A rapid firing in a two cycle process, thus the name "Two Stroke". This mechanical enginering coupled with a titanium frame, dry clutch, aluminum casings, and tuned exhaust produced some of the fastest grand prix road racing motorcycles in the late 1960s and 1970s.

I would like to share with you my personal journey from the first viewing of Bruce Browns' unforgetble film " On Any Sunday" to my debut at Riverside Raceway on a factory built Yamaha TZ 250 Grand Prix Racer.
