UNLEASH YOUR SECRETS

Chapter Two

‘At the Bar’

After cleaning the house and completely tiring herself, Jaye stepped out of the shower and dressed herself.

She put on a cute, long sleeve, black shirt, with black and white striped sleeves.  She had on her comfy, big & baggy, black jeans that were slightly frayed around the ankle.  She was in a black mood, as if it would conceal her better.

She tied her long, knee length black hair up in a pony tail, rather than the braid it was usually in.  Since she changed her hair color from red, why not change the hair stile as well?

She slipped on some worn out old denim sneakers that were blue, but now a dark teal-ish, deep blue color from being worn so much.

Before heading out the door she put on her black visor, and large dark shades.  Grabbing her black laptop case where the computer was stored, she stepped outside.  Though she had on sunglasses, she shielded her eyes from the blinding sun.  She glanced around for the white van; it was no where in sight.

Jaye locked the house and walked to her car that she had parked in the vacant-next-door’s driveway.  She had to put her car there, afraid that anyone from her roommate’s, Khylie Whylde, parties would vandalize it in any way.  And Khylie was just as her name stated; wild.

But just as so, the parties were too.  One time Jaye had discovered her car was peed on.  The guy…well he should adopt now.

Jaye drove to the bar that her friend owned.  Deesle’s mom had owned it, but died of liver disease, leaving Dee to inherit it.  Luckily Dee had recently turned 21, and if she hadn’t’ve (yes it’s a real word) been, the bar would have been auctioned off, probably to be turned into a dry cleaner. But anytime anyone asked Dee why she kept it, and since she wasn’t into alcohol, she would tell them, “The damned thing pays good money.”

As Jaye walked into the bar, her friend waved. Dee was wearing a white cotton shirt, with ruffles over the front and ‘bellbottom’ed arms.  Her bar-maid’s apron covered her jean capris.

Jaye sat down at a stool in front of her friend. “So…goin’ Goth today?”  Dee inquired, raising an eyebrow and already knowing the answer.

“Yeah.  I dunno…I just felt like doing it…”  Jaye replied sarcastically.  “But isn’t almost everything else I own black?”

“Yeah, true-true…”  Said Dee.  She ran her fingers through her extremely short brown hair.  The front few inches were pinned down by white hair clips, while the rest was spiked with gel.

“Well, did you fix the ‘mess’ problem?”  Dee asked while she grabbed a towel to dry some cups.

“No I didn’t fix the problem…she is probably still at Steeve’s house…”

“Or at whomever she went home with.”  Dee said lightheartedly, causing Jaye to chuckle slightly.

“Well I did clean my house, though.” Jay finished.  She set her laptop on the counter and put away her sunglasses, while Dee had already started drying dishes and was not looking at her friend.

“Well that’s good.”  Dee replied.  “I see you still lug that thing around with you everywhere.”  She looked up at Jaye to smile, but ended up gasping instead.

“Oh my God—scare me!”  She jumped back.  “I forgot you had those…”  Dee sighed a relief and continued with her dishes.

Jaye had her ‘white out’ contacts in.  Loving to scare people with them was one reason to wear them, but another was to not let ‘Them’ discover who she was.

They could do iris scans from afar, and they could be anywhere.  If they scanned her eyes they would be able to find out anything about her.  They could find out if she had a drug problem, to her credit card numbers, to how often a day she would burp.  Now that kind of power Jaye didn’t want anyone to have over her.  Burping was a considerable manner-offense, and Jaye wasn’t tolerant of it.  So if she were found out burping, she’d be an open-hypocryt.

Oh, yeah, and there was that little thing with her being a computer saleswoman as a job, but really weaving her way into black hat hacking.  Nobody knew about that; not even her closest friends.

“Hey,” Dee interrupted Jaye’s stare.  “I’ve got to do some stuff, would you like something?”

“Oh, sure.  How about some coffee?”  Jaye requested, getting her wallet from a side pocket of the laptop case.

“Black?”

“Yeah.”

“No, no, no. It’s on the house!  You should know that by now.”  Dee made motions for Jaye to put away her money.

“Thanks Dee.”

The brunette gave her the coffee and went to do some stuff at the other end of the bar.

Jaye sank back into her emotionless stare as she subconsciously dipped her finger in her cup and licked her finger.  Her thoughts racked her memory of the day when the strange girl had warned her of the ‘five mysterious men.’

She had resembled the Peacecraft girl a little.  That poor woman’s untimely death twanged in her heart.  All she wanted was peace, but…she would never live to see it.

The girl had come not too long ago; only about three-four months ago.  She showed up when Jaye had been running the bar for Dee, while Dee had a date.  The girl was somber; looked as if she was concerned for Jaye.

The girl had said nothing about herself, only what Jaye should do to protect her own self…

…………………………………………

I know this chapter ends in a weird place…but I decided to do the next part as a chapter of its own…and I’m going to keep it that way…^_^     read/review or read/leave…do whatever ya’d like!

Have a day!  ~Ninii. (my endings like this start up here pretty soon.  Its become a sort of trade mark, so I thought I’d go ahead and slap ‘em in here at the beginning where they weren’t before this re-write.  They get silly and then tone down to just the three words.  But do as it says, and have a day.)
