ALL ABOUT ME: KATE OLMSTEAD |
Okay, so you want to know who I am and what I do and such...Well, frankly, I don't find myself too interesting, but I will tell you anyways. My full name is Katelyn Sierra Olmstead. But I don't normally go by that. Most of my friends call me Katie or Kate. Whichever is easiest for you is what you can call me. Most people seem to think 2 syllables is too many to say so they simply leave it at Kate...but again, your choice. Lets see, I just turned 19. Yes, finally one full year of being an adult. I have waited 19 long years to say this and now it has been said and I realize it isn't too special. Actually 19 sucks...because you cant do anything special here. You are almost in your 20's but not old enough to drink...unless I were to live in Canada...but Canada is scary... I hail from the small state of Vermont. Yeah, it's a state. If you don't know where it is, it's wedged between New York and New Hampshire. At this point a lot of people know where VT is simply 'cause that's where Dean is from. Just look on a map, it's pretty easy to find. I am a sophomore at Boston University. It's kind of crazy. I am small town girl. In my town, the cows out number the people. Everyone knows everyone and everyone knows what everyone else does. It's frustrating at some points, but it's a nice environment to grow up in. Anyways, coming to the big city of Boston has been quite the adventure, and it's only started. I like it here, but it is taking a good amount of time to get used to. The biggest problem I find about living in Boston is that I am not one to party or go clubbing. We have 3, maybe 4 clubs in the state of Vermont and none of them are 18+, they are all 21+. Sure they have their 18+ nights, but one, I didn't turn 18 until mid-summer, and two, I never had time to go clubbing. On the night it would be 18+, I would have homework or have to go to bed early because of work/school the next day. Plus, most of us VT folk don't know how to "GET DOWN"...but don't tell anyone I said that. I am also not a partier. I don't drink, of course I have, but it's really not my thing. I love to just chill with a bunch of people watching TV, talking or just playing ultimate frisbee (or any fun sport). Through most of high school I was one who would study all the time. I didn't have time to go out every night and party, plus I didn't have a car of my own. I don't look down upon drinking, some people simply like to have fun that way, but again, I don't do it myself. I have a steady boyfriend. I have been with him for over 2 years now. He too is a sophomore here at Boston University. I love him more than anything. Yes, we have our share of fights, but the good times outnumber the bad times by a large amount. So let's see?! What else is there to tell you about me? I have pretty much covered it all. Oh, except for the fact that I am a lacrosse addict. I love lacrosse almost as much as I love my boyfriend (okay, maybe not that much, but a lot). I played on varsity all four years in high school and we even went to the finals 2 out of those 4 years. My freshman year, we won the state title. Of course I like to brag about that. Unfortunately, although I played varsity all four years, I am not good enough for the team here at BU. Therefore I am going through serious withdrawl from the sport because there is no intramural team. So if you love girls lax as much as I do, and are a student here, let me know. We could all get something going. So, thats me in a nutshell, a brazillian nut shell. If there is anything else you want to know about me, just ask. I am pretty open. |
