Following the start of the Millenium, the world's fears of Y2K were proven false. As billions of mortals breathed a sigh of relief and moved on with their lives, a boat docked in the port of LA. Along with its cargo from overseas, it brought with it a strange new influenza virus. Within a matter of weeks, many living along the California coastline were struggling against the strongest 'flu' outbreak seen in history since the Spanish influenza tragedy of the 1920's. Kindred along with Kine were affected, and the death toll mounted for both the mortal and undead of LA.

As the disease eased its grip, the vampires of LA discovered that not only had their numbers been decimated, those that had survived the outbreak were unable to feed on the vitae found in their normal prey. The situation grew desperate as the demand and price of 'clean' blood in LA skyrocketed. Clans who had long been allies became locked in a bitter struggle for survival.

Fearing another long and bloody Clan War, the LA Clans agreed that the best solution was an immediate evacuation of the city. Canio Di Nerezza, head of Clan Di Nerezza, relocated his entire family, including his new wife and their young sons, to New York City.

But in New York City, the four LA Clans were not met with open arms by the existing Clans. Much like the mortal immigrants of 1900's, the newly arrived Kindred discovered that in order to survive in New York City, they would have to fight for what they wanted, and their future.

The changes for the LA Clans have not been limited to a simple change in geographic location. They also find the structure of the city different ... rather than just good and evil, Watcher and Kindred, they have discovered New York's dark society is much more diverse. The clanless undead, who operate from the shadows of Kindred society, and whose powers are limited only by the natural boundaries of the sun. The Excoriate - those creatures of the supernatural whose reaction to the Kindred range from curiosity to outright hated. And the Forty, whose militant leadership is not merely focused on slaying Kindred, but on protecting humanity from all supernatural creatures who may harm them...even as they fight corruption from within. They all exist together within the city, and the clans with them .... everyone watched over by The Council.

The rules that kept the clans from anarchy in LA will do them no good in New York. The lines have been re-drawn, and while the field shrinks, the number of players has grown.
And everyone wants their piece of the city that never sleeps.
