Porch
A lathe-turned wooden railing runs the length of the porch save where the steps are, well-worn with use. To the right of the stairs, a wide swing is suspended from the overhang which shelters this area; to the left, a small table is the centerpiece for several chairs pulled around it, all of which face out to the front yard and the fields and trees beyond. The entire area holds an atmosphere of peace and comfort during these summer days, lending itself well to evening reading, small talk, or just watching the stars. Low shrubs snuggle up to the porch held back by the railing, their flowers filling the air with the sweet scent of greenery.
An aging screen door newly refurbished stands between the heavy inner door of the house and the outside air. Four steps lead down to the lane, a number of pots with small flower seedling carefully arranged alongside them.
A bright yellow VW New Beetle pulls up the lane and stops across from the farmhouse and parks. Dizzy exits the car and heads up to the farmhouse, removing her red-tinted sunglasses.
Jervis notes Dizzy, and turns briefly to Cameron before greeting the new arrival. "You're very protective of her. Not my type, but she definitely suits you, I think."
Cameron blinks, only a little surprised, not quite sure whether to take the observation as compliment or criticism. He wisely settles for compliment. Easier, that way. "Yeah, well, we think so, too. And I'm not /that/ protective. I just don't like people eyin' her like she's a piece of meat, or that's the only reason we got together. Cause she's kin. She's not like that." As Dizzy approaches, he quiets down and eyes her curiously. "G'day. What brings you here?"
In his late teens and recovering from a recent growth spurt, Cameron is tall, and comfortable with it. Bearing aspects of his predominantly Scottish heritage, the young Australian has deep blue eyes, and straight, blond hair that he keeps long enough at the fringe to nearly cover his eyebrows. The corners of his mouth are always slightly upturned, occasionally lending the impression that he's secretly enjoying his own personal joke.
Physically, Cameron is very lean, but fit and toned as a result of regular exercise, and now-forgotten hopes of cross-country running. Since arriving at the Farmhouse, his taste in clothing has changed little, and he still wears a long, heavy, black suede jacket, loose-fitting denim jeans, and wears boots that all conspire to make him look bigger, and taller, than he really is.
When he speaks, it is with a pleasant bass voice, complete with that wonderfully unadulterated Aussie accent, and when he moves, it is subdued, with little wasted motion.
Dizzy brings up a hand to the two boys in the traditional gesture of greeting as she steps up onto the porch, "Hey there. I just came over because there is almost no social opportunities in the city." She nods to Cameron, "For instance, I don't belive we've met yet."
Cameron raises a finger to Jervis, signalling for quiet, as he leans over the railing, peering at the woman. "Just gotta check. You family?"
"Yah, she's family." Alicia mummurs as she heads outside from the farm, thudding the door closed behind her. Enter, the Galliard.
Dizzy nods in agreement with Alicia, pointedly not looking in her direction. "Yeah. I'm familly. Dizzy, Ragabash cub of the Glass Walkers."
Jervis jumps a bit at Alicia's entrance. "Jesus!" he mutters under his breath, startled. He quickly collects himself. "But yeah, Cameron, I met her the other day. She's cool."
Cameron nods to Dizzy, and the measuring look becomes a quick grin - though there's still something keenly observant that flashes over his expression and lingers in his eyes. "Good to have you here, then. Bunch of old cubs popping up, these days, eh? Name's Cameron. Fianna theurge cub."
Alicia flops down onto the porch swing if there's room and scoots a bit, legs crossing. She's wearing a new, long flowing black skirt and a zipped up velvet shirt thats tucked in. She looks very 'motherly', her feet finished off with sandles. Flashing them all a grin, she turns her eyes to Cameron and simply stares at him.
Dizzy nods to Cameron, and turns to face Alicia, and sighs resigning. She places a hand in her jacket and starts playing with her keys. "I need to ask you a question."
Alicia glances over to the GlassWalker and raises up a brow, nodding, motioning her to continue.
Cameron eyes Alicia, for a moment, curiously. He stays quiet, waiting for the question, though.
Dizzy brushes an errant strand of hair out of her face, averting her eyes, "I was wondering if you knew someone who knew the clothes rite secret thingy... if it's not a problem, that is."
Jervis tosses away his cigarette, and smiles ever so slightly at the request.
Alicia glances over to Jervis and clears her throat. "Pick that up and deposit it correctly please, and don't start a fire while you are at it." Turning to Dizzy, she ponders for a moment. "Adam does, he's the Grounds Keeper here and he binded my clothing to me. I will be learning the rite soon enough tho' in the next few days, or at least that is what I planned."
Cameron hitches his shoulder, grinning at Dizzy. "Hope the first change wasn't too embarassing. There's a half-dozen folks around her who can do that. Duncan and Kaz, off the top of my head, too."
Responding to Alicia, Dizzy notes, "Adam, huh? Do you know where he hangs out or something? I haven't really been out of the city." Her eyes grow wide as Cameron speaks. Exasperated, she throws up her arms in defeat, "Kaz can do it? Oh geeze, and I just saw her the other night around here too."
Jervis looks like he's going to be offended for a moment, then it's like something occurs to him. He says, academic-sounding, "Yessum." He goes and picks it up, placing it back into his pack, of all places. He's just (seemingly) amused by the request, now, as he walks back.
"Thanks Jerv'." Alicia says with a bright smile. Oh yah, definitly living up the Cliath life. Leaning back into the porch swing, she props her hands behind her head. "Kaz is a good choice to go to." She agree's with Cameron. "She's easily obtainable in the city."
Cameron steps lazily over to the porch swing and dumps himself down on it, besides Alicia. "Yep. Kaz rocks. Might head out city-ways myself, soon. Just haven't, uh... gotten around to it, lately. Been busy." He rests one arm on the back of the swing, bending it at the elbow to let his cheek rest on the fist. "What's with the get-up, 'lish?"
Dizzy nods, placing both her hands into her jacket pockets and rocking back on her heels. "Well, I'm in the city a lot. I'll try and search her out then."
Alicia nods her head and glances over to Cameron. "Whats with the get up? You don't like it?" She asks, running a hand down her skirt, smoothing the long fabric out.
Cameron gives a dry chuckle taking time to look the Galliard up and down, at length. "I didn't say that... It's kinda nice, actually." he murmurs, grinning lewdly. "It's just a surprise, is all."
Alicia grins a bit and tilts her head to the side. "Thank you. Now that I can actually 'buy' clothes instead of wear the same thing all the time, I can be a bit more creative with my styles and the such. Try new things."
Dizzy rolls her eyes at the Fianna cub's actions.
Jervis follows up and rolls his eyes at everything in general, it seems.
Cameron looks amused at the reactions of the other cubs, and he leans back a bit, and snorts. "Please. You lot... s'not like I'm actually hitting on her. You'd know about it if I did that." He winks at Alicia. "Besides. She's not that kind of girl."
Smirking, Alicia rolls her eyes a bit, but it seems that her cheeks are a bit flushed. Errgh! Frustration settles in as she recrosses her legs, letting her gaze drift out across the lane.
Dizzy just crosses her arms and says nothing. Maybe she'll give him a soda bath at a later date.
Jervis doesn't offer any kind of verbal response, especially after seeing Alicia's reaction. He just puts his hands up in a mock-defensive position, and shakes head with that "I know nuh-sink!" look on his face.
Cameron leans back a little further, raising his own hands in a dismissive gesture of defeat, and just mumbles, "Alright, alright..." looking slightly chastened.
Alicia shifts her eyes a bit to Cameron and smirks, then bursts out in laughter. Shaking her head, she stands up and hops for a moment to work out the joints, her long skirt flowing about her legs.
Dizzy snickers a bit, and covers her mouth with a hand, calming herself. "That does look nice on you, though," she offers Alicia, sort of as an apology, and because it's true.
Jervis waits for a lull in the conversation, and quietly announces, "Well, I'm gonna go back inside, I guess. Get some reading done. See you folks later."
Dizzy gives a small wave to the escaping Silver Fang, "See you again some time."
Cameron mutters, "Jeez..." and the chastened look turns quickly to a mischeivous grin as he waves Jervis off. "Have supper ready in half an hour or so, eh?"
Alicia waves to Jervis as well, then smiles to Dizzy. "Thanks, got it pretty cheap too, went shopping at Ross." Also got ahold of Tom's platnium.
Dizzy smiles at Alicia and gives her car a glance, "I probably should take off too, it's getting late and I wanna try and see if I can find Kaz." She nods her head in Cameron's direction, "You said she hangs out in the city, can you be any clearer?"
Jervis, already on his way in, slows his pace for Cam's comment, but then doesn't respond. The door softly clatters behind him.
Cameron's grin turns wry. "Not even if I tried, babe. Try the Rialto or the church for 'home base', if you want, but she's out just as often as she's in."
Alicia nods her head at that. "Or Harbor Park, she hangs out there too." Looking back to Cameron, she pokes him in the shoulder softly. "I guess I should go home also, hubby is probably waiting at home for me, biting his nails."
Rummaging around in her pockets, Dizzy pulls out her car keys, "The Rialto? Is that some sort of restaurant?" She gives Alicia a quizzical look, "You mean that guy was really your husband?"
Alicia laughs. "No, I mean Tom, my kinfolk. Sebastian is my pack mate."
Cameron bites his lip. "Tom /proposed/? And you said yes?" He looks a little hurt, almost, pulling back a bit.
Alicia glances at Cameron and looks confused, raising up a brow. "Maybe.. why you looking like that for? Yer' wi' Summer anyways dude. You got yours."
Dizzy ohs, srcunching her face up a bit, but saying nothing more about the subject. Expecially with the turn it's taken. Not highschool indeed. "Well, I'm off then." She gives a small smile and a wave as she steps down from the porch, "See you later."
Cameron grins ferally, giving the Coggie a gentle punch on the arm, and growling, "Because you didn't tell me?!" He looks up from his abuse of the friend to call out, "It's a theatre. Condemned, kinda, but there's an alley entrance. Ask around. Everyone and their dog knows where."
Alicia smirks at Cameron and punches him back, then waves to Dizzy. "See ya later Diz'."
Dizzy turns around and gives Cameron a nod, "Thanks!" She yells, as she crosses the lane backwards, "Later!" She turns back to see where she's going. Dizzy slips into her bug, starts it up and drives off.
