Phase 2 -- The Concert

That was the first of three phases of our Saturday adventure.  The next phase was the concert itself, for which had Debi and I wore the shirts we made back in Decemeber when AC was at our Jingle Ball.  They're black with gold metallic lettering.  The fronts of the shirts say NOT TO OLD, the back of Debi's says
DROWNING IN NICK'S EYES, and the back of mine says AARON'S FUTURE SISTER IN LAW.
Yes, we are complete dorks.  We bought 3rd row tickets from a broker about a month before and it turned out to be WORTH EVERY PENNY.  Plus, they let all the people in the first and second row go up to the front of the stage, so Debi and I sneaked into the second row and ended up with at least 5 feet between us and the nearest heads that could get in our way. :)

First surprise of the concert -- I noticed EDDIE, yes Nick's former bodyguard, wandering around
by the stage right before the show.  I actually recognized his clothes before I recognized him. lol
We found out as the night progressed that Eddie is now AARON'S bg.
I'm surprised that no one knew that already, or maybe people knew but I hadn't heard yet.

Second surprise of the concert -- Aaron was a MANIAC, in a good way, even more so than in SJ
the week before.  I think it was because Nick was around that he was really tearing up the stage, but WHOA,
14 year olds should not be allowed to act/move that way.  Don't get me wrong, he was AMAZING,
I absolutely loved it, but I was surprised that he could turn up his energy even more that he had in SJ.
(despite the fact that the crowd in Vegas sucked -- the ushers were telling everyone to sit down, and they DID!)  A concert sidenote:  Aaron changed two of the outfits for the show.  The "Killer" shirt was gone.  Instead he wore this black and white outfit with a big red star and fringe onthe front.
It looks cool and photographs really well. ;)  Also, the GREEN chaps outfit for "Cowgirl"
was an ORANGE chaps outfit -- I think I perfer the green.  Besides, no 14 year old should have
an ASSORTMENT of chaps anyway, let alone GLOWING chaps. lol

Of course the main "surprise" of the concert was Nick.  It wasn't really a surprise for us since we saw him
at the hotel eariler, although Nick had said that he didn't know if he was performing with Aaron so we didn't know if he really would or not.  But right before NTYNTO, Aaron said, "I want to dedicate this song to my big brother.  I wish he could be here with me right now" then we heard Nick's voice over the speakers go "Aaaaaaaron."  Aaron acted all confused like, "What was that?" but then Nick ran out on stage and the song
started.  For the first part Aaron was on a platform suspended over the stage, and since Nick came out
on the main stage, Nick was looking up at Aaron.  It was adorable watching Nick look at Aaron like that,
so proud and having so much fun.  When Aaron came down to the main part of the stage they had some cute
"brother" momentstogether, arms around each other, total flashbacks to the Pay Per View special.

After that one song Nick disappeared until the encore, but that's the part that was REALLY adorable.
After Aaron's Party (the first song of the encore), Aaron said something like, "Nick where are you? *pause*
Are you gonna make me wait?  Cuz I'm NOT waiting for you!"  After a few seconds Nick finally came
out on stage.  Aaron walked over to him and was like, "WHY are you wearing those STUPID sunglasses?
Take 'em off!"  So Nick takes off his jacket then hands his sunglasses to Aaron, which Aaron then puts on
and starts making goofy faces.  Next Aaron goes and gets his infamous white pimp hat and says,
"Nick, I'm gonna give you lessons in P-I-M-P pimp."  Aaron puts the hat on Nick's head,
to which Nick responds with a smirk, "Bro, I INVENTED the word pimp."  It was CLASSIC!

So then Aaron was saying that he wanted Nick to sing again and Nick was asking what he should sing.  Of course Debi and I were screaming "I Need You Tonight!" but then Aaron said they'd sing Outstanding. *thud*  I was STUNNED, I didn't hear anything else after that.  It was like watching the PPV come to life before my eyes.  Debi and I of course knew all the words and Carter-isms that went along with the song, and the little girls next to us just kept staring at us because we knew it all. lol  After Aaron's verse and chorus the band stopped playing (just like on the PPV) and Nick looked around in mock confusion with his adorable furrowed eyebrows and grin and said to Aaron (not into the mic), "Were they supposed to do that?"  Then he started his verse and the band picked up again.  Sometime during the song Nick put the jacket and sunglasses back on, but I didn't even notice til I got my pictures back!  Towards the end of the song Nick and Aaron went up on the platform at the back of the stage (which is a good 10 or 12 feet higher than the main stage) and Aaron was dancing like crazy, doing the running man and just being silly.  Nick was watching him like "you freak" but then Nick joined in too. lol  To get off of the platform there are steps down the side, but Aaron decided to JUMP OFF the front (I thought he was going to break his neck!), and after Aaron did, Nick went to the edge of the platform and looked over like he was gonna jump off too.  I was thinking "Oh dear god Nick PLEASE DON'T!" and then he grinned at the audience and kind of shrugged it off and took the easy way off down the steps.  They ended the song at centerstage with their arms around each other and hitting that note, "Outstaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaandiiiiiiiiiing" -- it was even better than the PPV!
My film was just finishing rewinding so I didn't catch it, but Debi got a PERFECT picture of that moment. *sigh*
