Reno October 16, 2001
This show was the beginning of a whirlwind couple of days for me. I spent the night of the 15th at a hotel in downtown SJ, woke up at 5 am, drove home (only like 10 minutes away), got ready for my long day, and left for work around 7 am, half an hour earlier than I needed to, so I could find someplace open to get my SJ pics from the night before developed. Luckily it was a half day at work so I was able to leave around noon, pick up my pictures, and head straight to the airport to catch my 3:30 flight to Reno.

This show was unique in that I was going with my friend Marilyn who lives in Reno and *gasp* doesnt even own a BSB cd. I know, hard to imagine huh, but it IS possible. FREAK. (Mar, you know I love ya!) And SHES the one who convinced ME to go to the Reno concert, not the other way around. (you know thats the truth!) Of course, like she really had to twist my arm. I was already planning on being sick from work for the next two days for the Bakersfield show, why not spend a night in Reno too? lol You'll be happy
to know that she is now a big BSB fan, especially Brian (aka "the cute one"), and is eagerly anticipating
the Chapter One cd and dvd. She's even signing up for BSB mailing lists! I've created a monster! lol

Because Mar is a wife and a mom, this was sort of my off night for stalking.I was in Reno for like 14 hours and really, why bother? Of course, the guys almost fell right into our laps when, as we were driving to the venue just to check out the parking and what-not, we see a silver tour bus crossing the intersection in front of us heading AWAY from the arena. Then we see a tan tour bus, definitely one of the important ones, stopped at the intersection heading TOWARDS the arena. So we continued our journey with the bus following US. lol We got to the arena ahead of the bus, parked, and I got out to investigate. I saw Nicks bus driver and approached him to thank him for delivering my gift to Nick in SJ. He was very sweet yet again.
Some other driver, I think Brians, was also chatting with me, very nice guy. But the arena security
wouldnt let anyone stand near the bus entrance for safety reasons, which makes sense.
So we left since I figured #1 they wouldnt let me stay there, and #2 Nick was already inside.

Now on to the show... the Lawlor Event Center is TINY!!! So tiny in fact that there wasn't enough room
for the small stage, so no bridge either. Very weird. We met Debi and her sister there,
and Mar and I miraculously had seats right in front of them, and on the floor on Nick's side no less. *grin*
But 16th row floor was already in the second half of the arena, that's how small the place is.

I think the coolest thing about this show was seeing it with Marilyn. *big hugs* It was fun to see it through new eyes with someone who didn't know what to expect, unlike me who knows every single move they make. Mar was really impressed with Krystal, not knowing anything about her before, and she said that they should put Krystal on second rather than Sisqo. *side note: I saw all 5 BSB concerts last week and didn't watch Sisqo even ONCE! lol* Whenever Brian was on stage, Mar would poke me and say, "take a picture!" He was her fav before, and now he REALLY is... but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself!

There really wasn't anything remarkable that happened during the show, at least not that I can remember right now. lol Like I said before, all the shows are kind of blurring together. Nick did his usual strip tease,
his booty shaking, all the things I love. *grin* The wigs, Bye Bye Bye, "I don't think you're ready
for this jelly," all the "normal" stuff. It was weird NOT having the small stage and the bridge inside,
but it was really cute for Time when they all sat down at the front of the stage together.
They were kind of playing and putting their arms around each other, especially Nick and Howie.
I ran up to take a couple of pics of them all sitting there together, really sweet. I think this was the show
where, during The Call, AJ answered the phone and said, "MOM?!" lol Never heard that one before!

I brought a little stuffed animal shark with me that I bought at the SJ airport (SJ Sharks, get it?) that I wanted to have for the SJ show but couldn't find it. I found it for Reno though and I wanted to toss it to Nick.  For SOMH there were some empty seats near the front, and Debi and Mar convinced me I should run up there. (I'm a total chicken on my own) So I made it up to sixth row center, tossed the shark right at Nick's feet, he looked down at it, then went on singing. Dork. Oh well, I did what I could. The security guy yelled at me when I threw it like, "don't do that again!" -- well DUH, I didn't have anything else to throw! lol

Debi and Mar joined me in the sixth row for Drowning, which was amazing as always. It was nice to see them that close, just a preview for Bakersfield. *grin* Unfortunately my camera battery was dying, and every time I tried to take a close picture of Brian for Mar, it didn't work. But miraculously I got like 3 pictures of Nick! lol Hmmm, I don't think my camera is used to taking pics of the other guys. But when we were up close, Mar did something to Brian, like waved at him (I don't remember, she was behind me), and he pointed at her! Well that was all it took and now she's hooked. lol A great way to end another great show.

Since it was a Tuesday, we went back to Mar's apartment and watched her tape of Buffy, our favorite tv show. Unfortunately I was dozing off, but hell I'd been up since 5 am and had just seen 3 concerts in 4 days, gimme a break! My flight out of Reno was at 6 am Wednesday morning, and for some reason the alarm didn't go off, but luckily Mar has a sixth sense or something and woke me up just in time to throw on some clothes and jet to the airport so I could make my flight. *whew* Thank god I did because I needed to get back to SJ so I could then make the drive to Bakersfield, and there was NO WAY I was going to miss that!

Even though I was only in Reno for one night, it was still TONS of fun, and now
I've enlisted another BSB fan! lol  BSB week adventures
to be continued... the best is still to come!!!
