| The Return of BSB San Diego & Anaheim, CA May 13-14, 2005 |
| One word: AWESOME!!!!! (That's AJ's word from San Diego lol) They sounded fantastic both nights, but when don't they??? Debi and I screamed so much we thought we were going to pass out. lol In SD on Friday we had 2nd row tix on the right side of the stage, but before BSB came on we switched seats with the very very sweet girls sitting in front of us so we could be in the front row!!! Got eye contact/waves from all of the guys. The SD crowd seemed REALLY into them, Wango Tango a little less, although at WT there were several grown men (with their girlfriends/wives) standing up and singing along to IWITW, which Brian (and I) found very amusing. 6 song set both days: The Call, Weird World (Nick looked at us in SD and said, "You know the words?" lol), I Still, IWITW, Incomplete, and Backstreet's Back. They were on in the middle of the show both nights, before Kelly Clarkson in SD and after her at WT -- weird because her band is almost completely NICK'S former band. (Jason, Dwayne) For WT we had 14th row seats in front of the left side of the stage, but for BSB we snuck up to 6th row more towards the center and ended up staying there for the rest of the concert. :-) As far as off stage encounters go, didn't meet any of the Boys, but we did accidentally run into Leighanne and Kristen at WT after the Black Eyed Peas performed. They were sooooo incredibly sweet and friendly and beautiful. We chatted with them for a while about all sorts of things..... we said that we loved their husbands and were so excited for the new cd, which they were really glad to hear and they said the guys would be happy to hear it too.... we said that we were excited to see them on the west coast and had been disappointed that the mini-tour was just in the east, to which Kristen responded that it didn't make any sense to her either even though it wasn't the guys' decision..... we told Kristen that we loved her on Lost and love the show, and she said that she loves the show too and is anxiously waiting for them to call her back and use her again...... we asked Leighanne about Bailey, and she said that he wasn't there but that if he was, he'd be dancing all over the place and that he loves to watch his daddy perform (awwwwww!)....... we told them that we are from the Bay Area and Kristen said that the BSB choreographers are from here too and that they were performing with J Lo at WT (they're the twins with the dreads from the B&B tour; we saw Nick and AJ with them at The Grove last August)..... Debi said something about how great AJ looked (not physically, but he seemed to be glowing and so happy and playful on stage), and Leighanne jokingly said, "What about my husband?! I think he looks pretty great!" lol Then Kristen said that a few days ago AJ asked her who her favorite Backstreet Boy is. Leighanne was like, "WHAT? Who asked you that?!" Kristen was cracking up and said AJ and that she answered him, "Are you on drugs?! Oh wait, you don't do that anymore." lol The whole thing was really funny. It was wonderful to talk with them for so long, and I'm glad we got a chance to meet them. |
