This patch is simply a variation of the old-time favorite nine patch. It is reminiscent of great grandmother's quilt made from precious calico scraps saved over the years. This patch was also known as "Easy Quilt" by the Old Chelsea Station Needlecraft Service and it certainly has Midwest charm.
